Day 1 (1st August, 2015, Saturday) : TREE PLANTATION DRIVE
With a view to check environment degradation and make surroundings clean and green, IIIM, carried out a tree plantation drive on inaugural day of AIMS National Management Week. The event was preceded by a talk on Environment conservation by Environmentalist and Horticulture specialist Mr Umesh Parashar, Emphasizing on the challenges and risks of environmental degradation and suggested many ways in Which student’s community can contribute to environment conservation. Mr Parashar also suggested Ways for energy conservation passing on the motto “power saved is power produced”. The students of IIIM, highlighting the need and significance of social service activities which focus on combined participation of students and faculty in social service to build a better society, develop among them a sense of social and civic Responsibility, and utilize their knowledge and skills in finding practical solutions to individual and Community problems.
In line with Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi’s swacch bharat campaign to keep city green and clean, initiatives were taken for cleanliness drives, mass tree plantation and other schemes for protection and conservation of the environment. Environment is nothing but a place where we live and a healthy environment is necessary to lead a healthy life. But in recent decades, we have created many problems to our
planet due to our greediness. We forgot Mahatma Gandhiji's words "Earth gives every man's need, but not his greed". Human race’s greed has led to many problems like pollution, new diseases, climate change and their chain effects like less raining, excess flood, natural disasters etc. Raising awareness for understanding our responsibility and playing a part in environment conservation is pivotal to the success of Environment conservation
initiatives. With this view a total of 500 saplings of Neem, Ashok and Mango tree were planted in and around Institute’s backyard play-area and in nearby community Parks. Around 50 fruit bearing trees of Jamun, Lemon and Guava were planted around nearby slums and the people living there were explained the benefits and rewards of those trees and were motivated to take care of those saplings and plant more trees in their community.
Sports Activities
On day 1 of AIMS National Management
Week, sports activities were also organized
for the students of IIIM, to make them
understand the importance of all-round
development and team-spirit. Students
played the games of Volleyball and
Badminton under the guidance and
supervision of Mr Surendra Singh, in-charge
sports activities IIIM.
The sports activities organized, served the
dual purpose of students getting the knowledge of techniques to play better and also to
know about various opportunities in these sports in and around city.
Day 2 (3rd August, 2015, Monday) : NGO visit

students of IIIM visited an NGO- SAKSHAM, to explore
opportunities for contributing to welfare of society.
Saksham is an initiative to support youth and helping
the children who lack information and facilities because
of poverty, impoverishment or lack of
stimulation. Saksham also envisions spreading
awareness and prevention of blindness and promote
eye donation and child education. This not only helps
them to access decent employment opportunities but
also helps in
wholesome
sustained upliftment of the society.
It has even gone a step further and committed
through its Country Strategy Programme. CSP
targets for vocational training under overarching
household economic security are:
50000 girls will receive market-oriented
vocational training.
500000 women will work their way out of poverty.
IIIM’s students were divided in a team of 5 students in each group and were asked to talk and
motivate people living in a nearby slum area so that they send their children for education
and take-up vocational training and acquire skills to
be a trained workforce.
At the end of the visit team interacted with the
caretakers and discussed the challenges faced by
them. Students also spread the awareness about

medicines and diagnostic facilities, free education
under RTE, polio campaign, control the
overpopulation and sanitation etc.

difficulties or problems they face in daily
lives. Various games like antakshri, passing
parcel etc were played and everybody
participated with great enthusiasm.

the residents.
To make it more helpful students took a
vow to visit Prem-Niketan on regular basis
to interact with the people living there and
to spend a full day with them listening
their stories or experiences they have gone through. Playing some games and sharing lunch
with inhabitants makes a positive change in otherwise monotonous life of the residents. This
not only touches their hearts but also brings spark in their eyes.

talented and innovative, thus to foster their learning self-grooming,
