French. Responsible for many French Revolution reforms as well as conquering most of Europe.

• Scorched Earth: a military strategy which involves destroying anything that might be useful to the enemy while advancing through or withdrawing from an area

• Congress of Vienna: Major European powers of the day met in Vienna, Austria to establish a plan of peace and discuss the realignment of territorial borders after the defeat of Napoleon
