ASBESTOS material must have prior DHEC written authorization and County approval for disposal into a designated landfill. For more information regarding disposal call 803-642-1533. Mixed C&D and MSW Loads: Other loads of C&D (construction and demolition) and yard waste must not have lunch waste or household trash type waste mixed in the load. Proper loading will prevent your load being refused due to improperly mixed waste that will have to be separated. Recycling: The following materials are recycled by Aiken County and can be delivered, clean of other waste and separated, to the Barden C&D Landfill at `NO CHARGE': Vehicle Batteries, Scrap Metal, and White Goods (washers, dryers, stoves). This landfill is open Monday - Saturday from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. These materials must be taken to any of Aiken County's 10 Convenience Centers: Cardboard, Mixed Paper (newspaper, magazines, junk mail, pasteboard, books), Aluminum Cans, Steel Cans, Soda Bottles, Milk Bottles Permits: A 2-year permit may be purchased for $25.00; a 30-day permit is $10.00. Permits are issued Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Each hauler is responsible for properly placing the permits on each side of the correct vehicle. Failure to place the permit on the proper vehicle could result in forfeiting access into the landfill or result in having to purchase a new permit for proper placement. Should decals become lost, damaged, or faded due to harsh detergents being used when washing vehicle or sun damage, a new permit will have to be purchased. Littering: THERE ARE STATE LAWS AND COUNTY ORDINANCES PERTAINING TO THE PROPER HAULING OF WASTE. ONE SUCH REGULATION REQUIRES THAT ALL LOADS, HOWEVER SMALL, MUST BE COVERED TO PREVENT DEBRIS BLOWING FROM A VEHICLE AND SPILLING ONTO THE HIGHWAYS OR OTHER PROPERTY. Such violations are subject to monetary fines and/or community service time. Billing: All landfill accounts are invoiced on a monthly basis and are mailed by the 5th of the month following the month you incur charges. The total bill is to be paid no later than the 30th, unpaid accounts after this time will be assessed a delinquent fee of 10% and no less than $8.00 per account. Landfill access will be denied until account is brought current. Payment should be sent to Finance Central Collections Division, 1930 University Parkway, Suite 3200, Aiken, SC 29801. ** All charges are based on fees in effect on the date of delivery as established by the Aiken County Council. **

I certify that all C&D Landfill acceptable waste that I haul will be from generators located only in Aiken County and member counties of Three Rivers Solid Waste Authority, i.e.: Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Calhoun, Edgefield, McCormick, Orangeburg and Saluda counties.
