Sincerely yours,Roberto Benabid
LCP 2014-2015
Talking about these experiences, I would like to wish the next team, AIESEC UA 15-16, the best of luck. Not only success in their contribution to the organization but also success in their self-development through AIESEC since every AIESEC-experience should be a win-win situation for both parties. Looking at the team 15-16 already, I am sure that they will do a good job and the future for this amazing organiza-tion looks brighter than ever.
This common theme, the why, translated itself into an overall stakeholder-oriented strategy of AIESEC UA 14-15. First of all, we refocused on our reason to exist, namely providing leadership experiences by going on an AIESEC exchange or by being part of our local entity. This refocus led to a quality increase for every stakeholder of AIESEC UA, we only provide services if it is a win-win situation both for the stakeholder as for our organization. More concrete, this translated itself to (1) a more custo-mer-oriented approach towards Belgian students who wanted to go abroad, (2) to a bigger and more empowered leadership body body of AIESEC UA (The management board), and (3) an innovation team that keeps an eye on our relevance in our environment.
The why was not only the common theme for our strategy but also for the personal experience of every member of AIESEC UA. As president of AIESEC UA, this also applied to me and made me think about why I am taking up this opportunity and more im-portantly what I want to get out of it. One thing I know for sure is that it does not matter in which AIESEC experience you partici-pate, because it will have always have an impact on your life. For me, this experience pushed me out of my comfort zone, ena-bling me to gain certain competencies and skills, which contributed to my self-development. AIESEC transformed me from a shy, introvert person to a more open, self-confident one, ready to take up any challenge. Therefore I would like to thank AIESEC UA, for giving me this experience and for giving the same experience to hundreds of other people.
.
This year, we focused on asking a lot of questions about ourselves concerning our actions. The why is the common theme, why do we organize certain projects? Why does someone need to become part of our organization? Why does someone want to take up an opportunity to go on an AIESEC in-ternship?
AIESEC UA already exists for a long time and every academic year, there are a lot of new people taking up different opportunities offered by this organization. AIESEC UA is an orga-nization that gives people the chance to discover and develop themselves and 2014-2015 was not different from that.
A letter fro our Presiden

Charlotte FivezVice President OGX
If you put the OGX team within a professional working environment, you can recognize various similar aspects. It is much more than HR, Marketing and Public Speaking. It is the responsibility to introduce the AIESEC platform to the right audience of stu-dents, in which they can pursue the international working experience where they have always dreamed of.
We offer these students 2 renumerated exchange programs: the Global Talent Program on a professional level and the Global Ci-tizen Program on a voluntary basis. The OGX members are trained on selling and marketing skills in order to reach a broad range of students and make impact on their lives.
Wha i thi trac abou?
Wha di w lear i OGX?
When I first started my VP experience, I never imagined it would be like this. It exceeded my expectations in every way. I learned more than I could have ever dreamt of. The most important thing I learned as a VP to me is people management and motivating people. What I always thought would be the easiest part of my job, turned out to be the hardest. I am grateful to my team leaders and members for their patience and their positive feedback. It helped me to become the leader I wanted to be.
Charlotte Fivez - Vice President_________________ _________________
AIESEC is an amazing student organization that gives everyone the opportunity to develop themselves. In OGX I got more res-ponsibility by conducting interviews with potential candidates for an internship, which improved my communication skills. I lear-ned to be more open to explore new things, to challenge myself and to get out of my comfort zone. Furthermore,we have become a closer team throughout the year and I have met so many new wonderful people.
Daphne Van Echelpoel - Team Member_________________ _________________
Being a team leader taught me a set of skills that I think will be of great importance in my future life. Dealing with different issues, managing my time and dividing the workload are things that I learned to do this year. Besides that, leading a team and intervie-wing potential exchange participants gave me more confidence and made me aware of my own capabilities. Being an AIESEC’er challenged me to become a better leader and in the end a better person.

Goal for thi ter
Our accomplishment
At the beginning of my term I set several goals for OGX. I wanted to reach more students and send them abroad. Secondly, I aimed to have a very motivated team. I arranged meetings with other schools in Antwerp with the aim to get a further cooperation, this could help us to send more students abroad. We got the agreement that they are going to work with us for the promotion towards students. We hope to keep working together in the future to expand our market. Currently, I am working on my second goal. Keeping members motivated is often a very difficult task, but I think that due to the teambuildings we did and the informal conversations we had, the OGX members are feeling home in our track.

Wha i thi trac abou? This year, we transformed Incoming Exchange into an even more professional department, which shows the ambition to fulfill the needs of our clients more efficiently.
By dividing Incoming Exchange into “Account Management” and “Buddy & Reception Management”, we created a clear boun-dary between informal and professional work environments. This approach helped us to create more specific job designs, which resulted in an improvement of our operations’ efficiency.
The mission of “Account Management” is starting to build a long-term relationship with our customers. During the last 10 years, AIESEC University of Antwerp has been helping companies by providing the most cost-efficient and innovative HR-solutions to tackle their challenges in different areas. I think the most effective way to ensure the long-term growth of AIESEC, is a solid ac-count management strategy, which makes us always approachable for our partners to solve their most challenging cases at the area of human resources.
AIESEC UA12
Wha di w lear i ICX?
AIESEC gave me the chance to get connected to this great network, through which I met so many amazing people, not only from Belgium but from all over the world. It also helped to further develop my own personality. They really try to push you out of your comfort-zone, which may look scary at first but this is where you learn the most. If I could you give one advice, it would be this: do not ever let fear hold you back from doing anything. Just do it. Afterwards you will be glad you did.
Roy Heijnerman - Team Member_________________ _________________
During my Erasmus exchange I realized that my studies in Business Engineering would not give me the professional experience I need in order to compete with other business students in an international economic environment. When I came back in Belgium, I joined AIESEC UA as a member of the Organizational Comittee of the Harbour Week. Soon I realized that I could get more out of this organization by putting more effort in it. Therefore, I decided to apply for the position as Account Manager within the track Incoming Exchange. Thanks to this team leader positi-on I got the chance to lead a team of 5 members which enhanced my leadership skills, I learned how to build strong rrelationships with our partners in a professional way and I gained insight in basic HR processes. In short, as an Ac-count Manager I got the unique opportunity to build on my future career besides my studies.

Goal for thi ter
Our accomplishment
This year’s goals of Incoming Exchange require 2 entirely different department within the track: “Buddy & Reception Manage-ment” and “Account Management”. For “Buddy & Reception management”, we tried to create a stronger and more personal con-nection between the local AIESECers and our interns from all over the world. We believe in a multinational chemistry that will fa-cilitate them to reach a higher level of self-knowledge, self-conciseness and global-mindset.
For “Account Management” we synchronized our goals with our partners’ expectations. What we want to achieve is the maxi-mum level of customer satisfaction. If a partner wants a Java Developer, we will make sure we provide them the best. If a custo-mer does not want to invest their time in the visa and work-permit procedure. No problem, we will take care of it as well. We be-lieve that the key growth driver of “Account Management” is to surprise our customers by delivering top quality service instead of the single range of products they were expecting from us.

terna Relation
Jeroen JanssensVice President ERWha i thi trac abou?External Relations is the most business-oriented track of AIESEC UA. At External Relations, you have the opportunity to contact companies, visit them and most definitely sign contracts with them. Both our Global Talent program as well as the Next Step program are our main sales focus.
Being a part of ER makes you develop yourself into a true sales person. You gain the benefit of participating in an entire sales trai-ning program with different kind of sales sessions, given by both alumni as professional speakers from companies.
When talking about ER at AIESEC UA, I saw a motivated team of members who did not simply want to place a nice reference onto their CV, but pushed themselves to become a motivated sales representative selling programs they truly believed in. This is what an experience in the ER track of AIESEC UA really is about.
AIESEC UA14
Wha di w lear i ER?
I decided to be part of AIESEC because I wanted to challenge myself to a higher level. In the beginning I was afraid of cold calling, but after a while I felt more confident. I’m convinced that this self-confidence will help me in my future career. Next to the cold call-sessions, I did a lot of company visits, which learned me a lot about doing business. Furthermore, I met a lot of interesting people during LC meetings and conferences
Inne Michielsen - Team Member_________________ _________________
This year I had the chance to lead my own sales team. Besides exponentially expanding my professional network and making new friends I got to know my own potential. During the past couple of months I learned to motivate, inspire and coach people. I believe I transformed my team in a selling machine and together we made AIESEC UA history. There is only one thing left to say and that is: Thank you swifites.
Olivier De Pooter - Team Leader_________________ _________________
Being in the sales team the past year has truly been a journey. It was exciting to watch my team members grow in their roles within AIESEC and to work with such motivated people. This has been my first team leader experience, and I could not have wished for a better team to share that experience with. Together, we reached our goals: to aim high, to turn projects into success, and to do something meaningful.

In the 1st semester we had a sales training in cooperation with Blinc and Atlas. Blinc gave a session about the different types of customer relations and how to adapt as a sales manager. Atlas was a motivational session about the why of sales in general. Velocitas gave a session in the 2nd semester about inno-vative ways of rethinking and reformulating our sales strategy towards com-panies. And finally we had a sales session by IButler, about their sales ap-proach towards clients.

Goal for thi terThis year ER has signed more contracts for both Global Talent as for Next Step as ever before. Our portfolio of TN takers has grown into a significant and diversified portfolio with both SME’s as larger companies.
External Relations has worked very closely with Incoming Exchange and therefore did we not only just focus on raising new TN’s but also guaranteed a full 100% matching rate which resulted inrealizations, the main purpose of ICX and ER. We are also proud to be part of the sales of several Next Step events such as our Job Fair, Job Alert and Harbour Week.Besides this we also were able to create workshops in cooperation with McKinsey, Accenture & AB InBev.
Communication
Timo VerbruggheVice President COMMWha i thi trac abou? The Communications track is responsible for all internal communication, marketing channels and designs of AIESEC UA. This track also supports others in their marketing efforts and ensures that all IT systems, both old and new, are well integrated and un-derstood by members of AIESEC UA.
COMM thinks about how to convey the message of our projects, exchanges and so on, in the most effective way to students, companies or the general public. Our members did this by using social media, email, press releases and other tools. This, com-bined with a unique branding style aligned with our international guidelines, is what made up our team.
With COMM, members got a chance to promote international brands or even create and maintain new ones, gained experience in tools like Photoshop and learned more about marketing in general.
AIESEC UA16
Wha di w lear i COMM?
My AIESEC adventure started after I heard some strangers speak about it in my business class. Assignments started coming in slowly at first, but as the year evolved, things got busier. While it seems all I am doing is time-managing my schedule, I learned what it meant to be a team player, a Photoshop designer and -since a couple of weeks- a web designer. I am thankful for all the opportunities that AIESEC has given me and I will treasure the memories forever!
Nathalie Lauwereyns - Team Member_________________ _________________
I joined AIESEC to meet new people while at the same time gaining practical skills in the field of Communications. After a year of working in the COMM track I got this and so much more. By attending NTMS and organizing BeLDS I got to know AIESEC as an or-ganization that encourages students to get the most out of themselves. Within AIESEC UA I got the chance to develop the Comm strategy, and more importantly: develop myself as a person.
Meike Cremers - Team Member_________________ _________________
As the responsible for design, I experienced a very exciting term. Thanks to the novelty of the COMM departement and the ambi-tious vision of my VP, I had the opportunity to learn marketing on a strategic level and help define it. Not only the content of our marketing, like our brands, but also tools that will guarantee pipeline and will make marketeers of the next generation of AIE-SEC’ers in COMM. On top of these responsibilities, I also had a very rich experience as a team leader. Managing a small group of ta-lented young people is an experience where you learn a lot about management and about yourself. A very simple explanation for a complex endeavor, but nevertheless an experience that I will treasure deeply.

Our accomplishment
Goal for thi terThis year, COMM redefined itself by introducing a new structure, consisting of a Design and an External Channels team, and new workflows which ensured that COMM can now be seen as a full-fledged track that not only supports others through its back-offi-ce function, but can also takefull responsibility for its' own projects (e.g. website update and maintenance, creation of the Annual Report, etc).
Our reach was expanded through both optimizing our existing channels, e.g. a design refresh for our website and a more structu-red approach to social media posts, but also by exploring new channels like Twitter and LinkedIn. We overhauled both our digital and physical marketing materials with new guidelines based on those from AIESEC International. This can be noticed in allour designs, even the annual report you are holding right now! We also introduced two new brands , Future Leaders & Next Step, to unify our Recruitment and Projects marketing on both the local and national level.
Our brandAs the track of marketing and communications we are the main responsibles for intergrating, preserving and represen-ting our brands. Adapting the Global Talent and Global Citizen brands for the needs of the Belgian students was one of the challenges we had to tackle. With videos, booklets and posters we supported OGX and ICX in their marketing efforts.
On top of that, AIESEC UA has also supported TM & PM through our national brands: Future Leaders and Next Step. Recruitment videos, Job Fair booklets, several posters and a big social media effort, powered by these brands, ensured a good visibility of our local events and TMP/TLP programs, both towards students and companies.

Tine ChristiaensenVice President PMWha i thi trac abou?Project Management is the presentation board of AIESEC UA towards students of the University of Antwerp. By organizing all kinds of events we try to place AIESEC in the minds of our fellow students as a professional youth-driven organization. We close-ly work together with External Relations, Finance and Communications to coordinate Campus Recruitment Projects such as the Job Fair, the Job Alert, Harbour Week and several smaller workshops with individual companies. Besides a focus on companies, we also collaborated with Outgoing Exchange and took care of two events to boost our exchange programs (Global Village and EExchange Nights). Of course there is always a time to relax and that’s why Project Management is also responsible for the diffe-rent Champagne Cantuses. A little party never killed nobody.

Wha di w lear i PM?
Within Project Management, we get the opportunity to participate in the organization and realization of very different activities such as workshops, conferences, debates etcetera. We get the chance to gain different skills by the diverse tasks that should be fulfilled and this allows us to exploit our strengths. We learn to deal with deadlines, unexpected circumstances and so on. As I tried to explain you: being a PM'er is quite a challenge!
Louise De Vliegere- Team Member_________________ _________________
I am so thankful to be given the opportunity to work in such a great organization as AIESEC UA; it has really helped me grow as a person. I developed a stronger work ethic and finally formulated some long term goals for myself, both of which I was really nee-ding. The great thing about Project Management is that, when you are involved and dedicated, you immediately get the chance to lead a team even as a first year member.
Henri Groenweghe - Team Leader_________________ _________________
Project Management was the perfect track for me! I learned so much during this year from my fellow EB-members, from working together with companies, but especially from my own members. They thought me to be creative, to show patience, to become a problem-solving thinker and to be a true leader. It was a priceless experience to work together with my teams and to see them grow in so many different aspects. Thank you, cuties!

N Step
I had three main focus points for my term as a VP PM. First, I wanted to make sure that the CRXP-events that we organize in the first semester, would become part of an integrated system. After brainstorming with COMM, we came up with the concept of ‘the next step’. The designs of every CRXP event would be aligned with these brand guidelines, which was of great additional value to my goal of ‘Job Month’. My second goal was to expand our Harbour Week. The OC made it possible to add another event to the already pretty filled up week! Last accent this year was on the team-track-feeling within Project Management. We organi-zzed several track meetings to make it easier for the PM-members to feel connected.
In collaboration with Communications, a new brand, Next Step, was created to represent the Campus Recruitment Experience. By organizing a series of events, we aim to create a platform for students to make progress in their career path. By bringing local-companies to students, these young people can gain knowledge about the professional environment and get insights in the Bel-gian job market. On the other hand, companies also gain access to the pool of local job searching students. We are also proud to say that this brand was adapted to a national level, bringing a uniform product to AIESEC in Belgium. The Next Step events AIESEC UA organized this year: Job Month (Global village, Job Alert, Job Fair, Consulting event), Accenture workshop, AB Inbev Workshop and Harbour week.

Tom EversVice President TMWha i thi trac abou? The TM team is comparable to the Human Resources department of an organization. Our job is to guarantee the ongoing inflow of talented people and to make sure all stakeholders enjoy the greatest AIESEC experiences. Besides this, talent management will focus on the personal education and development of people’s soft skills and will provide several activities in order to enhance the AIESEC family bond. We accomplish this by dividing our track in 3 teams.
TThe recruitment team is responsible for the planning and marketing of AIESEC during the beginning of the year and the selection and allocation of the applicants, both accomplished by interviews, introductions and aula speeches. The tracking & alumni team is responsible for the evaluation and commitment of our members. They take care of all the needs and questions and act like an ombudsperson. The development team is the brain behind our soft skill workshops, parties and goal setting.

Wha di w lear i TM?
My name is Hannan Ababri and I joined AIESEC without any concrete expectations. Little did I know joining would actually change me as a person, change how I see and handle things. I can honestly say that AIESEC has broadened my horizons. So far, I've met a lot of fantastic people with whom I share amazing memories and moments. Thanks to AIESEC I can now also say that I master the art of time management and planning. To conclude my testimonial I’d like to add that if you really open up to what AIESEC has to offer, you’ll not only learn new things and meet new people but you’ll also (re)discover a part of yourself, at least I did.
Hannan Ababri - Team Leader_________________ _________________
I initially joined AIESEC simply to get to know new people. Throughout the year however, I learned that AIESEC is much more than this ordinary club that gets together on a regularly basis. During this year, my time management has significantly improved, I lear-ned how to take interviews, I practiced public speaking and I got to know international people. I learned all these skills while also meeting my initial goal. Joining AIESEC was probably the best decision I made in my life so far.
Victor Fierens - Team Member_________________ _________________
AIESEC has given me the opportunity to dedicate myself to the greatest cause ever for students, in an environment where you can learn among the loveliest international people. I myself got the chance to become a team leader in my first year in AIESEC. By taking this position, I got acquainted with my own leadership style and how I can improve myself. Talent Management showed me how people work and what they need in order to stay motivated. Everyone has a certain talent, but one also needs guidance and that is where my team comes in.

Futur LeaderThe future leaders program represents the team member and team leader opportunities we offer here at AIESEC UA. With this, we try to provide a way for students to develop themselves besides their stu-dies in an international platform. With the division of the different tracks like outgoing exchange and project management, students get the choice between a wide range of disciplines and functional knowledge. Besides that, students have the opportunity to work in a semi-professional environment where they can learn a lot of new soft skills like public speaking, time management or coaching. Through guidance of talent management, we try to aid students in finding their own skills they want to ddevelop and taking clear steps towards that goal. Because ultimately AIESEC is about helping people discover what they want to do and where they want to go.

During the term 14-15, TM is proud to see the commitment of all the AIESEC ‘ers reaching a higher level. This was one of the main focuses this year. We observed a higher presence rate at local committee meetings, conferences and workshops. Ultimately this resulted in the highest amount of full members in years. Members also have a better understanding of AIESEC as an organisation and its internship programs. They have become real AIESEC ambassadors. Finally, we optimized the member database to a more flexible database in Podio, which had the opportunity to improve the tracking of our members.

Together, we try to bring all our projects to a grand success by keeping track of the constant cash in- and outflows and by budgeting in the most cost-effective way. Although being a small team, we provide a critical but constructive voice in every organizing commit-tee. Financial surveillance is every finance member’s main concern. We take care of the financial processing of every event, ho-wever we also keep an eye on our strategy and financial goals. In addition, other event-related activities can belong to our work field: a multidisciplinary team!

The coolest thing in my track is the fact that we are not a secluded track. Our job is to respect the budget, but mainly to provide a point of contact. Since there is a budget involved at every event, we cooperate with many people. This way I achieved one of my goals: meeting cool new people. I learned several things at once: from collaborating and managing a budget to planning areal event.

It is incredible how fast things can go at AIESEC. I remember being a candidate member, with only some indistinct expectations, attending one of the requirement sessions in the fall of 2014. Only a few months later, I met great AIESEC’ers from all over Europe and beyond, assisted in the organization of various events – from a consulting workshop to an international conference - and didn’t regret any moment spent doing these things.

Applying for VP was a giant leap in the dark: the start of an adventure, a rollercoaster. My AIESEC experience gained momentum, as if it wasn’t already going fast enough, and I was eager to kick off the AIESEC madness. The year flew by at an unseen pace: a lot of work and always something to do. It was a truly unforgettable period. AIESEC is one big family and it is an honour to be part of it.

The AIESEC internal audit team, consisting of interested Belgian AIESECers, aims at auditing every LC in the Belgian network minimum once a year. The intention is to assure that every LC operates according to the compendium, that all legal requirements are met and all processes and procedures are optimized. The necessary knowledge for these ‘AIESEC auditors’ is provided by PwC, a loyal partner of AIESEC in Belgium, during a yearly 1-day crash course at their their offices in Brussels.

This year has been tough. As in most organizations these days, the need was felt to increase our efficiency. This is why a major effort has been made to revise our cost structure: every budget has been reconsidered and adjusted as needed. This endeavour made it possible to re-gain our focus on the principal investments that have a real impact on our performance and to be prepa-red for a highly uncertain future. Being present in every Organizing Committee, the Finance team has been able to have an effec-tive impact on the organization of our events. All our members’ contribution to this strategy should however be acknowledged. It is because of all our efforts, that we will be able to pass on a healthy organization: the perfect base for an even more successful term!

Wha i thi tea abou?An important aspect of a successful organization is its ability to reinvent itself and to improve its processes in a consistent way. To reach this goal, the Innovation Team was created in academic year 2014-2015. Our main concern was to make AIESEC’ers think about the current way of operating and to trigger their creativity. We made this possible by operating a digital idea box and placing a physical one in our office, always available for every member. All of the ideas we received were evaluated according to several criteria and the best ideas were implemented in our tracks. The best idea’s inventor was acknowledged as the ‘innovator ofof the month’. We can conclude that this was a very innovative year and that every member contributed to a renewed and better AIESEC UA and that is something to be proud of.

Innovation and flexibility are vital for sustainable growth in an organization. Just like any other organization we, AIESEC UA, need to adapt in order to be relevant in a fast changing world. The innovation team 2014-2015 was therefore a logical next step and made their entrance as a vital component in the long term strategy of AIESEC UA.

As a new member of AIESEC, I immediately started in the Innovation Team with zero AIESEC experience beforehand. You are challenged to innovate and think differently. The best experience of the Innovation Team is the fact that you get to know all the tracks. Furthermore, I was surprised by the amount of ideas and positive reactions we got, which was really motivating for us. We already realized some new ideas thanks to the great input of several AIESEC’ers.

Joining the innovation team was a great decision and has broadened my perspective. Getting ideas from other members and trying to apply them into our organization was a great challenge. Our idea box was a real success and not long after that, we intro-duced our online idea box on the AIESEC UA member portal. Being part of the innovation team also changed my personal life, since innovation became a bigger part in my daily life. I was recognizing things that could be changed easily but which could have a large impact.
