Project description:This year, I attended to AIESEC

program and I went to UKRAINE for a summer camp. It was based on working with youth of 7-16 years old, whom I gave presentation about Poland and polish culture.

The first task was to show the foreign country through presenting national traditions, food, history, national clothes.

The other interns presented their tradition also. I worked with people from Turkey, Bulgaria, China and Egypt. All of the interns talked with each other about religion, history, sports, technology and art. The main goals of country presentation were to show the variety of world cultures and to share the idea of cultural, religious tolerance.

During this project my language skills improved greatly. And not only in English, which I had to speak a LOT. I discovered also that Ukrainian language is in many ways similar to Polish which helped me to make contact easier with the children than before and share more.

Some words about personal development:

Every year I’ve spent holiday the same way. This year I decided to do something different. I wanted to have unforgettable adventure. I learned new things about other cultures and share something about mine. It was so exiting! I met new people and made new friends.

My impressions from the project:

Ukraine is a beautiful country and Mykolaiv is one of it’s pearls. It’s very green, calm and warm and it is near Black Sea. It has one of the best Zoos in the Europe and beautiful yacht club and everything. There are a lot of beaches.

My impressions of the Ukraine:

The transportation is easy and Ukraine is a beautiful country. I travelled around and visited many incredible places. Crimea, for one, is astonishing and I’m going to miss it.

Local Committee AIESEC in MYKOLAIV solved my trouble in Ukraine. They host us very well.

Thanks to them, we ate delicious Ukrainian foods and slept in comfortable beds.

My impressions of the Local Committee and people:

They had never left us alone and took care of us. Ukrainians are so kind, helpful and friendly.

I have made a lot of friends from Ukraine and I’m keeping in touch with them now.

The youth can speak English because of universities and schools.

If you don’t have insider friends from Ukraine, you will face some difficulties, because of the language barrier, but you will be able to overcome it in no time.

They figure out my problems from Poland through the internet or telephone and contacted Local Committee AIESEC in MYKOLAIV.

My gratitude:

I would like to go abroad by AIESEC program once again. Local Committee AIESEC Poznan helped me so much while I travelled and kept in touch with me once I got there. Both of the AIESEC teams really did a great job. Since I went to Ukraine they always nearby and ready to assist.
