AIESEC Baruch l Quarter 2 Report 3

The past 6 months have truly been the toughest, yet most remarkable months I have personally ever experienced. There are certain experiences in life that test your will, dedication, and focus. Being LCP of AIESEC Baruch has provided me with a heightened personal development experience, that made me realize what was most important to me in life, and what my values are. I have learned more about teamwork than I could have ever imagined. I have had meaningful conversations with people from all over the world that I keep in touch with to this very day. In life, sometimes you get very few opportunities to do what you love every day, and do it with the people that you love.Thank you for providing me with this gift and opportunity, for your friendships, for your constant encouragement, and for believing in me, and my team. It means the world.I know that this is only the beginning. We have all paved the way, and created a foundation for success for years to come. We have raised the bar, and I know in my heart that we will continue to grow, and impact more people in Baruch College, in NYC, in the US, and in the world.

Let’s make the next 6 months the best yet.

With all of the love in the world,

Tala Mansi

Letter from the President

In only 6 months, we provided more than 50 young people with the opportunity to experience another culture, dip their toes into new water, and discover something about themselves that they never knew. Together, we aligned our passion and drive to impact the world around us, to achieve amazing things. The coolest part about this? We have changed. We grew, developed, and became better individuals. I have witnessed this growth within so many of you, and within myself. It has moved me. Getting your emails and messages about how much you love your host family, or how challenging your experience has been, or how much you have learned about yourself, and the meaning of life, has only reaffirmed that AIESEC Baruch is an LC of change agents. You live the AIESEC way, and you embody what this organization is all about.

Outgoing Exchange Second Quarter Results Q2 Is definitely the quarter filled with the most action and consistent delivery for the Outgoing Exchange team. Different from previous years where exchange participant recruitment was started in the beginning of Quarter 2, exchange participant recruitment had been started four months early in December. However, the Outgoing Exchange Team took a different approach and continued to have information sessions and recruitment throughout Quarter 2. The Outgoing Exchange Team gave the experience of a lifetime to over 50 EPs just for this summer, and still has about 8 EPs looking for longer-term experiences. We hosted two Outgoing Preparation Seminars, which are all day seminars that prepare our exchange participants for their work abroad experience. In addition, we gave our exchange participants care packages, which included an AIESEC Baruch T-Shirt and a travel journal for them to write down some of the many thoughts that an exchange participant has on their experience. We accomplished a

huge growth from last year, and we plan on making this growth sustainable for the next year.

Third Quarter Prospects Our main goal for the next quarter is to match the exchange participants that are looking for longer-term opportunities, as well as recruit for Global Internship Program opportunities much earlier than we usually do. The Outgoing Exchange team will be restructuring to start off Quarter 3 in full force and keep the fluidity in changing lives.

Incoming Exchange

Second Quarter Results Incoming Exchange had a strong start to quarter two with our most successful month in terms of meetings thus far coming in April. After a very transitional first couple of months, the newly recruited members came in motivated and it pushed everyone else. We began to finally push the sales blitz method and our sales capacity increased. With the help of alumni and the previous executive board, we were able to build on March and raise ten meetings that month. We framed April as our final push before final exams and the summer kicked in, so our goal was to be able to utilize that month efficiently. However, In the following two months, our sales productivity dramatically dropped with a combined meeting output of six in both May and June. The downfall was due to largely to scheduling combined with an overall lack of overall sales aggressiveness. We created the Local Committee-wide Triple S Team to counteract the poor sales numbersA great deal of the second quarter was devoted to account delivery. Between April and May, three AIESEC Baruch trainees arrived in New York to work for three different companies. The Incoming Exchange team ran a successful trainee social event in conjunction with AIESEC Life to welcome the trainees. We have also had the opportunity to spend with them individually and set up a strategy to get them more Local Committee involved in the third quarter. All of the VISA work was also completed for a fifth trainee who will arrive to her traineeship in Boulder Colorado in Quarter three. Quarter two has also seen us begin sourcing our biggest account of the year. Overall, we had 16 meetings, four traineeships raised, and one realization in the second quarter.

Third Quarter Prospects Our main goal for next quarter is to perfect our reception by taking good case practices from all around the world and applying them to AIESEC Baruch. We will use the summer to further involve our current trainees with the Local Committee and follow-through on the opportunities we have built throughout the semester. As soon as the new semester begins, we will push a plan to re-vitalize sales within the Business Development team by introducing a mentoring program.

CommunicationsSecond Quarter Results In Q2, the main focus of the team was to support exchange functions, and to help build AIESEC Baruch’s brand and reach. We conducted market research amongst our exchange participants and created job-specific traineeship campaigns. By marketing partner countries, Brazil, China, and Hungary, we were able to help OGX receive 24 more applications for exchange in Q2. In addition, Communications teamed up with Incoming Exchange to help find over 200 leads in our major market sectors. We set the foundation to help showcase AIESEC in the coming semesters. After conducting an internal brand audit, the Communications Team worked on correctly representing their brand and image. Researching and analyzing our major social media outlets, we have organized our focus for each and compiled all social media data and resources for the future. Addionally, we helped prepare Exchange Participant care packages, and established media requirements to help build customer satisfaction and showcasing for future recruitments.Spearheading the Relay for Life initiative within the Local Committee, we raised a total of $2700 towards cancer research and branched out on campus with more social responsibility.

Message from the Vice President:Third Quarter Prospects Quarter 3’s focus is to build on the foundation of Q2. Driving the local chapter towards a more professional image that is aligned with the organization globally. To make AIESEC more accessible and known, Q3 will be focused on creating a professional website to provide information and updates . Used as a platform to link all of our social media together, we can use the internet as a tool to propel our reach. Furthermore, moving towards the digital and social media trends, we will use our collection of resources from the Local Committee and our Exchange Participants to showcase the impact of AIESEC, and continue attracting an audience. By building an online presence, we can move to managing recruitment virtually, thus not limiting opportunities to Baruch College Students that can attend information sessions. In Q3 we will also be preparing for the upcoming school semester by planning events ahead of time and building new relations within Baruch College to build a better brand image. We will also be planning major marketing campaigns so we can focus more on execution in the fall.

Talent ManagementSecond Quarter Results After Assessing Q2, what proved to be the most important focus is analyzing the performance of teams and individuals resulting in a “clean up” of membership. This analysis also brought forward a need to recreate and adjust Talent Management’s use of general member meetings, and to create ways to decrease the effects of our Local Committees Bottlenecks. Talent Management has begun foundational work on a tracking system that we call Performance memos which is to be a database of members engagement, progress and motivation. Within Q2 this team has also managed to create a relationship with Brooklyn Technical High School and hopes to use that as a way to reach out to young leaders and create a wider range of impact whether through exchange or seminars. Mid semester Retreat was a success in regards to the content delivered and the impact it made on attendees.

Message from the Vice President:Third Quarter Prospects For this upcoming quarter, the Talent Management Team has three focuses: Training, Recruiting and Synergy. With the Analysis done during the previous quarter, this team plans to create sessions that can be used Local Committee-wide or for specific team bottlenecks in order to improve the local committee performance as a whole and to promote a second initiative we have which is synergy. We see Synergy as an opportunity to closely knit the Local Committee in operations with closer member/team performance tracking and implementing trainings, and during Exchange Participant/Member Recruitment. Recruitment this quarter is key because we have specific job descriptions that must be filled in order to maximize the amount of impact the local committee can produce.

Message from the Vice President:Finance

Second Quarter Results The Finance Team entered Quarter 2 of 2012 with four major priorities:1. Utilize budgets more efficiently and to their fullest extents 2. Begin implementation of Quickbooks accounting software and solve initial kinks3. Send out grant proposals to organizations for external funding4. Develop the Finance Team leadership pipeline

The first two of those priorities have been fulfilled. AIESEC Baruch employed 100% of the funds it received for exchange participant care packages and Quickbooks testing is over. The third priority is still in progress. Grant proposals require validation from the AIESEC US Member Committee and since the new Member Committee transitioned into office on June 1st, the Finance Team has been working to complete the process of sending proposals. The fourth priority is ongoing. There are three Finance Director positions available for members to apply for in the Fall and the success of this initiative will be determined at that time. Additionally, AIESEC Baruch is the 3rd most financially stable local committee in the country at the end of Quarter 2. This success was in large part due to the

Outgoing Exchange team and its high match rate over the past two quarters. Two major events we had in Quarter Two were our fund raising event for Relay for Life where we were able to raise over 600 dollars and our annual event “On the Skyline”. While we did incur unexpected losses at Skyline due to damages we still managed to break even with costs.

Third Quarter Prospects In the coming quarter, the Finance Team will adopt two additional focuses. The first focus will be to begin planning and budgeting for the Fall 2012 semester. The second is to diversify Local Committee revenue streams. After Summer National Conference, the Finance Team will work on finding additional sources of revenue. Lastly, the Finance Team is committed to growing its members and providing them with greater responsibilities and leadership opportunities.
