How To: Access myDevelopment

• Log in to the my.monash portal using your ‘Student’* authcate ID and password

• Click on the ‘Research’ tile

*Please note that the ‘Staff’ and ‘Student’ views of myDevelopment are different. Staff will be unable to view myDevelopment activities that count towards MDP Professional Development (PD) training hours for Graduate Research Students.

How To: Access myDevelopment

• Click on ‘myDevelopment’ under the ‘Access research tools’ heading

• This is what the learning catalogue* will look like:

*The learning catalogue contains all available activities on myDevelopment, however not all these activities count towards your MDP PD training hours!

• To only browse for activities that count towards your required 120 MDP PD training hours, click on ‘Graduate Education’ under the ‘Topic’ heading

MDP PD training activities can be further filtered by either the

‘Excellence in Research & Teaching’ OR ‘Professionalism, Career &

Innovation’ categories

• Click on an activity you are interested in

In this example, we’ll select ‘MGR Online: Communication Foundations’

The ‘Online Course’ tag indicates that this activity can be completed entirely online

• You will then be able to view details about that particular MDP PD training activity

Click ‘Request’ to launch an Online activity

• For ‘Online’ activities, click ‘Request’ to launch the training activity

• For ‘Event’ activities (generally face-to-face activities)

In this example, we’ll select ‘MNHS: Using LinkedIn for Career Development’

The ‘Event’ tag indicates that these types of activities are generally face-to-face workshops/classes

The ‘Sessions’ tab will show you dates/times/locations of any available upcoming sessions of this activity

Click on ‘Request’ to register for this activity

Use this button to filter training by

‘Active’, ‘Completed’ or ‘Archived’

• For a quick ‘snapshot’ of your completed MDP PD training hours in each training category, click on ‘Reports’-> ‘Dashboards’

The graph indicates the total number of completed MDP PD training hours in the ‘Excellence in Research & Teaching’ and

‘Professionalism, Career & Innovation’ categories*

*Please note that students commencing post-2017 must complete a total of 120 MDP PD hours (60h/60h in each training category). Students who commenced post-2015 to pre-2017 must complete a total of 120 MDP PD hours (irrespective of training category).

Indicates when this report was last ‘refreshed’

Click ‘Refresh’ to get the most up-to-date snapshot of your completed MDP

• For a detailed report of your completed MDP PD training hours in each training category, click on ‘Reports’-> ‘Custom reports’

• This is what the ‘Custom Reports’ screen will look like:

The ‘Monash Doctoral Program’ Training record report is available to all students

To run this report, click on ‘Actions’-> ‘Refresh’

This will give you the most up-to-date list of completed MDP PD activities and

training hours

To view this report, click on ‘Actions’-> ‘View’

You can also choose to download this report as an Excel spreadsheet (‘Actions’->

‘Excel’)

• Click on the ‘Menu’ function on the Welcome screen

*A report of registered training hours will be requested if a student has not completed a total of 120 MDP PD hours by the time of their final review milestone.

Click ‘Run training record report’ to get a list of all

completed MDP PD training hours as well as hours for activities that

have been registered for but not yet completed

In the ‘Advanced’ section, make sure the following boxes are ticked:

• Include Training Detail Information• Graduate Education Hours Click here to run the report

which will automatically download as an Excel

spreadsheet

This column will contain all completed MDP PD

training hours as well as hours for activities that

have been registered for but not yet completed

• First, filter the ‘Registered’ column by removing all ‘N/A’ records to only view activities that have been registered for

• Next, filter the ‘Status’ column by removing all ‘Completed’ records to only view activities that have been registered for (i.e. not yet completed)
