AHHHHHHHH!!

IMPERIAL AND METRIC MEASUREMENTS

THE WAR• Before the war most countries used imperial measurements. England did and so did

America.

AFTER THE WAR• When the war ended America stuck with imperial measurements, however, us Brits made

the decision to change. We did that in 1965. however, we aren’t truly metric, road signs, for example, they are in miles and yards with speeds in mph not kph, and also milk, beer, and cider still come in pints.

WHY WE SWITCHED• It is easy to see why us Brits switched. As the metric system is all nice easy rounded

numbers like 100, whereas the imperial system is all so many of this fit in to this and so many of that fit into that. I’m not trying to put the imperial system in a bad light but it is so much harder than metric.

Got it! Got

it!!

NOW FOR THE NOT SO INTERESTING BIT• Here are the two different types of measuring.

Here are the different types of weight:• Ounce• Pound• Stone• Ton

• Gram• Kilogram• tonne

Here are the different types of volume:• Fluid ounce• Pint• gallon

• Millilitre• Centilitre• litre

Sorry there is some more but I can’t remember them.

THAT’S ME DONE. ANY QUESTIONS?
