    Workshop

    The workshop, under the theme Facilitating Entrepreneurship development for Rural Women the Caribbean, seeks to expose rural women producers to policy issues related to food securit

    and issues related to entrepreneurship development. These include value chain and marketin

    concepts, business development and strategic planning. It also seeks to sharpen skills for buildin

    business plans, feasibility studies and market research; and inform on the critical requirements f

    developing rural women entrepreneurs, including and importantly, the legal aspects of forming

    business. This workshop is a follow-up from the IICA-CTA Breeding and Growing Agripreneu

    workshop held in St. Lucia in 3-6 March 2008.

    This collaborative conference will be held under the theme Coping With Copenhagen: Wate

    Waste, Energy, and Health. The 5th

    Biennial Caribbean Environmental Forum & Exhibition (CEF-

    is the premier sustainable development and environment forum and exhibition in the Caribbea

    with a regional focus and international attention. This event brings together a wide and divers

    cross section of professionals and other persons concerned with or involved in environmental an

    developmental issues. This year, a new feature will be added to the Caribbean Environment

    Forum - the 2010 Youth Environmental Forum. The CEF-5 will be held in conjunction with the 2nCaribbean Sustainable Energy Forumand the 15th Annual Wider Caribbean Waste ManagemenConference (ReCaribe), attracting professionals from the various disciplines to share the

    experiences and knowledge.

    This Forum seeks to address issues related to climate change in the Caribbean Region. Over th

    years, the effects of climate change in our region, has seen growing concerns about rising se

    levels and marine changes particularly and the threat it poses to Low-lying Caribbean states. On

    can only wonder if the devastating earthquake in Haiti earlier this year, is an indication of th

    severity of these changes in our region. The Forum will be hosted by the National Oceanograph

    and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and is

    collaboration with the Rainy Season Predicators and Interpretation and Management Worksho

    hosted by The Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology under the Caribbea

    Agrometeorological Initiative Project.

    public service.
