ASDP II Program

Agricultural sector development Programme phase II

- ASDP II is an extension of ASDP I (2006/7-2013/14)- revised 2015

- 10 years from 2018/19- Comprehends with: Tanzania Development Vision (TDV 2025); Long Term Perspective Plan (LTPP 2012-2021); Five Year Development Plan II (FYDP II 2016-21), Agricultural Sector Development Strategy (ASDS) and the Tanzania Agriculture and Food Security Investment Plan (TAFSIP).

The Implementation of the Agricultural Sector Development Programme is lead by five ASLMs. These are:

1. Ministry of Agriculture2. Ministry of Water and Irrigation3. President’s Office Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG)4. Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment5. Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlement6. Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries

Agricultural Sector Lead Ministries (ASLMs)

ASLMs will collaborate with other Ministries& DPs and Private Sector in implementation of ASDP II

**Note: ASDP II is not belongs to MoA but belongs & Coordinated by ASLMs collaboration with other Ministries& DPs and Private Sector Through National Coordination Unit (NCU).

ASDP II Approval

•Government has Approved the implementationof ASDP II (7 November 2017). TheChairperson-His Exc. Prime Ministerinstructed;-

To engage (socialize) more stakeholderto understand and also to know their role (RCs, DCs, DEDs, LGAs-HeadDepartments), Parliament Committee, AllPS, DPs, ANSAF, MVIWATA, SUA, VPO,……) and we are cont…….

Financing modalities and strategy to mobilize funds for ASDP II Government preferred funding under ASDP II

is Basket funding, however stand alone direct project financing will be considered.

government)ii. Development partners iii. Financial Institutionsiv. Private Sectors v. NGOs vi. Farmer’s Organizations
