09:30 - 11:00 Presentation (for your group exclusively) at the Croatian Chamber of Agriculture Zagreb, general info about Croatian agriculture, plus extra info. on import/export between Croatia and Germany; Discussion.11:00 Departure towards Opatija (The Queen of Croatian tourism, 170 years of tradition in tourism).12:30 Stop at the beautiful mountain resort Fužine.12:30 - 14:00 Lunch in famous restaurant Bitoraj (menu consists of a plate with nine original domestic tastes dishes)14:00 - 15:15 Visit to the fruit farm Borovnica (Blueberry Ranch) and opportunity to see the fruit production. Mrs. Kozlica, the owner of the farm, has a vast experience in agriculture; she is being very active in the local Agri Chamber and has participated in several international Agri projects.15:30 - 16:15 Boat ride along Bajer Lake16:15 - 17:15 Trip to Hreljin17:15 - 18:15 Visit to the Apritrade, honey and honey products processing and distribution company, one of the largest in the Primorsko - Goranska County (www.apitrade.hr). Sampling of honey products included.18:15 Trip to Opatija; cca 18:45 check-in at nice Hotel.19:00 - 21:00 Buffet style dinner in the Hotel. After dinner you can (accompanied by the guide) witness the past and present beautifully interact in, so called Croatian Monte Carlo, by taking a walk through its park with beautiful indigenous plants covering a large part of Opatija Riviera and also visit the center of the town. This modern plant built in 2007 in eastern part of Istria. They implemented ISO standards in the process of salting, freezing, packaging and transporting the fish. Factory has 50-60 employees and mainly exports fish to France, Italy and Spain (www.arbacommerce.hr/fish-processing).11:15 - 12:15 Trip to Pazin12:15 - 13:45 Lunch in Pazin area including the presentation and meeting with Azrri (Agency for rural development of Istria region) representative and presentation of Organization of Farmers in Istria Area, Restaurant Lovac (presentation will be held before or after lunch - on Kukić farm). Homemade meal: Special Istrian soup Maneštra, Turkey steak - Istrian Style, Fuži with Truffles, Apple Strudel.14:00 - 15:15 Visit to the farm Kukić, where you will have the opportunity to see magnificent boškarin, Croatian autochthonous local breed of oxen (famous Istrian OX).16:30 return to the Hotel; spend your afternoon in leisure - refresh, spend time in the SPA or enjoying pool activities (jacuzzi etc.)19:00 - 19:30 A walk through Opatija, with guide who will show you famous sites, best restaurants and magical walkway along the sea Lungo mare. 07:00 Breakfast at the Hotel.08:45 Departure to Agroproduct Pula area (www.agroprodukt-pula.hr).10:45 Meeting with the representative of Agroproduct Pula, leader in agricultural industry of Istria region, company owning 45ha of vineyards intended for wine production, 11ha peaches, 47ha olives, lavender plantation, 14ha tomatoes, 1ha strawberries and others. It employs more than 68 people. Company was established in 1950, and nowadays it is a private enterprise. Group will visit plantations in Barbariga, Vodnjan and probably one more near Pula. Namely, each year the company develops a new sort, so we will see what will it be in 2015). Our visit starts on the field where we will see example of grape production, strawberries and tomatoes. Same area also peach/nectarines. Then we will travel by bus with the english speaking deputy of the company cca 30 min to the next location - Barbariga, beautiful area close to the beach, to see the largest olive grove in Istria with cca 10.000 olive trees.Recently, their olive oil won the competition in Split (amongst 1140 olive oil samples presented, they won 2 golden medals). Finally, at the end of the tour, we will visit the Wine production company and taste the typical wine of the region - famous white Malvasia wine. Wine tasting, olive oil, cheese & prosciutto sampling will delight your taste buds, and if you want to take a part of this experience with you, there is a possibility to buy their products in the small shop at hand.

14:00 - 15:15 Lunch in local restaurant (tavern).15:30 - 17:30 Afternoon - free time in Pula. Take a walk in this beautiful city with famous Roman coloseum from the 1st Century.17:30 Later in the afternoon, return to Opatija.19:45 3-course dinner with boškarin meat, main course at the local agro-tourism facility Stancija Kovacici Homemade meal: Chicken liver pate, Beef soup with home-made noodles, Beef-stew (boškarin beef) with home-made noodles, Special Dessert - Mascarpone with figs. Transfer back to the Hotel. Overnight.

Homemade meal: Welcome drink, Baked lamb with potatoes under the lid (peka style) and salad, Special home-made dessert14:45 - 16:15 After lunch, we’ll visit dairy factory GLIGORA, highlight of todays trip, and sample their tasty cheese. This dairy factory and their cheese are the winners of the Gold medal of this year’s cheese competition in USA; amongst 2.600 sheep cheeses, they won 1st place in the world.16:15 - 16:45 Kind Gligora staff will show you the flock on their pastures.cca 18:30 Check-in at the nice 4* Hotel Pinija (with wellness facilities) located on the seashore Before the dinner, take a walk with the guide to the near village of Petrčane. Since tonight you have a dinner in your own arrangement, the guide will point out the best restaurants for you, or you can have a buffet style dinner at the hotel. Return back to the hotel, taking a stroll by the sea. Overnight.

You will see Dalmatian prosciutto production (production, smoking, storing, selling). Part of the ROCA area is also the new pig fattening farm for prosciutto production. Homemade meal: Appetizer (home-made grappa, home-made cherry and walnut liqueur) Plate House Roca (prosciutto, bacon, 3 sorts of home-made sausages, different types of home-made cured and smoked meat, prosciutto spread, Grilled veal, lamb, baked potatoes, season salad Dessert - special house recipe, baked pancakes with cheese & cream14:30 - 15:30 Return back to Zadar15:30 - 17:30 Two hours guided tour of Zadar downtown, including the Sea Organ and the beautiful Sun Salutation light installation, with the local guide. UNESCO DAY!07:00 - 08:00 Breakfast in the Hotel, check-out.08:00 Departure from the Hotel.10:45 Arrival at National Park of Plitvice lakes (UNESCO) and the tour of the Plitvice lakes, including the lake cruise.Over thousands of years, the waters flowing over the limestone and chalk have deposited travertine barriers, creating natural dams which, in turn, have created a series of beautiful lakes, caves and waterfalls. These geological processes still continue today. The forests of the park are home to the bears, wolves and many rare bird species.
