AGREEYA HELPS PUBLIC BENEFIT CORPORATION MODERNIZE
ITSEMPLOYEE INTRANET

BackgroundThe customer is a public benefit corporation managing
2,500 acres of submerged lands and 3,400 acres of water
across its five-member cities. It is responsible for legislation
and development of these waterfront areas in terms of
commerce, navigation, fisheries, recreation, and tourism by
acting on behalf of the state government.
ChallengesThe Corporation wanted to upgrade its Employee Intranet
and align it to the Corporation’s current branding
guidelines. The Corporation actively used its Intranet for
employee collaboration, central document management,
workflow management, and self-service delivery. However,
the legacy Employee Intranet had an uninviting,
unresponsive and cumbersome UI creating major
roadblocks in employee collaborations and adoptions.
The Corporation wanted to remove such bottlenecks by
modernizing its Intranet and moving towards the cloud and
specifically to SharePoint Online. A switch to the newest
version of SharePoint and re-branding would benefit the
Corporation towards the betterment of internal processes,
assure data security, connect Intranet to mobile devices,
generate better ROI, and streamline various processes. The
corporation sought a partner to help them
• Modernize the existing non-SharePoint Employee
Intranet in SharePoint Online environment.
• Align the new Intranet to the branding guidelines of
the Corporation, while focusing on user self-service
delivery strategy.
• Build a contemporary, simple, and clean system with
an approachable and friendly look to assist in
communication and provide resources that are
relevant to employees.
• Boost productivity and efficiency by creating an
Intranet that is mobile responsive and accessible
from PC, tablet, and smartphone alike.
• Enhance the user experience by logically grouping
categories and content most relevant for the user.
• Display information and resources in a clear and easy
to understand format utilizing intuitive content
organization.
SolutionAgreeYa’s team of experts strived towards building a
unique, intuitive and upgraded Employee Intranet for the
Corporation, by assessing the current state of Intranet.
During the discovery and planning phase, our team carried
out an in-depth evaluation of the customer’s existing
system and analyzed the current content databases. The
analysis performed by our SharePoint experts helped in
creating a definitive blueprint for migration and
customizations to employee Intranet. The project was
divided into two parallelly running phases.
During the first phase, our team took up a design-centric
approach to create wireframes, visual designs, information
architectures, interaction design, etc. based on the
Corporation’s requirements and branding guidelines.
Progressively working with the customer, we were able to
rapidly finalize and implement the designs, and
enhancements to the new system.
The second phase focused on providing a scalable business
process automation solution using workflows and forms to
automate and expedite the business processes in an
efficient manner.
Bene�tsAgreeYa completed the SharePoint modernization and
Employee Intranet branding solutions within the planned
timeframe and budget. Upgraded Intranet and re-branding
has improved performance, productivity, and user
adoption. Employees have highly appreciated the ease of
use and efficient collaboration functions of the new
