Our function is to give people a voice and help them get the best out of
local health and social care services. We do this by:
Gathering information and opinions about local services. We go out into communities and hold local meetings to gather evidence and ask for opinions on specific issues.
Recruiting volunteers to ensure we can offer a ‘lay person’s’ perspective
Organising Enter and View visits to local services including hospitals, care homes, GP and dental surgeries, social care and community health services
Providing a ‘signposting’ to services to the public who contact us

Planning Workshop agree PURPOSE of themed programme
Invite wide range of service users, family carers, charities, service providers, health & social care professionals appropriate to the theme to a planning workshop at Healthwatch Shropshire
Identify Leads for each element of the programme
Shaping the detail of the various activities e.g. premises to be visited, community engagement events to be organised; obtaining service users’ stories
Organise Enter and View (E&V) visits
Agree dates and times of proposed visits e.g. to hospital services; respite and day services; care homes; GP practices; community health and social services
Implement the programme over the agreed timescale
Produce a final report Collate reports on each activity strand
