WHY INSTALL A REVOLVING DOOR?

REVOLVING DOORS 3

There are numerous benefits, both practical and aesthetic,

of installing a revolving door. Not only are revolving doors

particularly suited to areas where high winds may buffet the

entrance of a building, they are also useful in preventing large

amounts of air from spilling out of a building every time a

person enters or exits.

In buildings with both front and back entrances, such as hotel

foyers, a wind tunnel may develop, making the area unpleasant

for visitors. With a revolving door, wind is prevented from

blowing into the entrance of a building as there is never

an opening through which it can enter. As well as this, the

relatively small segments of the revolving door prevents

conditioned air from spilling out of the building.

Revolving doors allow high traffic flows, are convenient to

use and most importantly they maintain an airlock, keeping

personal comfort levels high and reducing air conditioning

running costs.

For a stylish entrance which will ultimately become a feature of

any building, look no further than AGP. Duotour Series, ABC Ultimo Centre, Sydney

downlights, clean canopy cladding lines and ceiling and roof

panels finished in the same material as the rest of the door.

• AGP doors can be built to the specific requirements of the

client with an impressive range of optional features, including

automatic windback door wings, automatic “clamshell” night

doors, integrated drainage and extended height canopies.

TOURNIKET series

REVOLVING DOORS 11

The Tourniket Series revolving door is the cost effective

entrance solution, providing a simple yet dependable

airlock, with a range of design and safety features.

Imported from the leading European automatic door manufacturer,

Boon Edam, the Tourniket is available in a range of size options

from 1600mm to 3800mm. The revolving doorset is built from

solid aluminium framed door wings, with the option to fit manual

breakout mechanisms to provide free egress when required.

A full range of infrared safety sensors are fitted as standard to ensure

the door fully complies with the Australian Automatic Door Standard

AS5007:2008.

In an era of environmental sustainability, a new manually operating

and energy generating revolving door has been developed. The NRG+

Tournilket is equipped with a special generator that is driven by the

human energy applied to the door. A set of super capacitors stores

this generated energy as a buffer and provides a consistent supply for

the low energy LED lights in the ceiling.

To provide an impressive door entrance, and promote these unique

benefits, the ceiling of the revolving door is made of safety glass and

offers a clear view of this technology in the door canopy. In addition

to this LED scales inside the door indicate the amount of energy that

is being generated.
