Project Identity #9 - Rural Education & Community

Organisation (RECO) Trust, Theni

Agni Foundation provided digital identity to RECO, an NGO that not only empowers the women and

children with hope and faith, but it also show cases to the world the power of Women. RECO is all

women organization managed and conducted by women with a sincere motto to give back to the

community.

The project Director, Mrs. K. Parwathi during her interaction with the Chief Operating Officer of Agni

Foundation said this organisation came to life in 2004 when a group of the likeminded women put

together their social conscious thoughts into action and started implementing empowerment initiatives

such as Orphanages, Old age home, hostels for kids perusing education, skill development and

sustenance. Started with just 10 now reached to 50 inhabitants.

The team lead by Mrs. K. Parwathi has not only impacted the lives of the orphans but also extended the

support and guidance for the self-reliance of 300 plus families belonging to disadvantaged, and

marginalised pockets of the society. Mrs. Parwathi said, RECO ensures that quality education is imparted

to all the kids who count on their future with RECO. Apart from that the NGO is successfully creating

sustainable and equitable society through inclusive initiatives such as Self Help Groups. Under RECO’s

support over 150 SHGs works together, faces odds together and reap success together. Monthly basis

RECO handles and provide legal, police and official solutions to the problems of all 150 SHGs facing on

the course of their operations.

The worthy mentions of RECO’s services include voicing their societal concern to the governments,

Evening coaching classes to the bright young minds, skills sets honing sessions for school kids so on.

During her interaction with COO of Agni Foundation she said, though RECO has been doing a very

diversified service to the needy and poor across all age groups, financial disparities and geographical

segmentations like rural and urban areas, still the right recognition and the awareness of the

organisation is very poor. The reason is they don’t have funds to spend for the marketing of their trust.

She even added a couple of years ago she had a website, which is now down due to the financial

constraint.

She thanked Agni Foundation from the bottom of her heart that, the foundation is rendering the right

support for their initiative quite rightly at the right time. She praised the Chief Patron of Agni Foundation

Mr. J. Agnishwar and his effective team that’s providing digital identity to the NGOs, which is an ultimate

gift an NGO can get in the present technologically connected global community.

Launching the website, Dr. Sundaramurthy- the Chief Guest thanked Agni Foundation for their befitting

service in touch with the e-age requirement. He said he want, the world to see, how positive, how

enthusiastic these kids are there at RECO.

During the icebreaker he asked the kids to name their best friend, why they like him/her. Surprisingly all

the kids spotted the best friends invariably imbued with helping tendency. That quality of helping

inspires us all at Agni Foundation, because helping is the only way of becoming friends and nurturing

trust, precisely that’s what Project Identity of Agni Foundation aims to accomplish. Throwing lights on

the deserving NGOs and placing them online, so that they can be seen and helped from anywhere, any

time.

Conducting the Project Heart competition among the kids and giving away medals as a token of

appreciation, along with the positive thoughts shared by Chief Guest : whoever failing in any attempt

has ability to succeed in the same task, Failure is just success delayed and kids should never lose

confidence.
