IADB Office of Small States IssuesIADB Office of Small States Issues

The IADB Secretariat has created a new office

of Small States Issues to expand cooperation

and coordination with regional and

subregional organizations which allows the

IADB to better accomplish it’s mission to

advise the OAS with regard to special concerns

of small island states in the Caribbean.

Office of Small States IssuesOffice of Small States Issues

Secretariat / SAS / Office of Small States Issues:

Provides advisory capacity and monitors all matters concerning

issues related to the special concerns of small island states of

the Caribbean. Coordinates with OAS agencies such as CICAD,

CICTE, CIFTA in order to provide better military advise to the

OAS in accordance with IADB Statutes and Charters.

We respectfully request that member states consider supporting

the IADB with representatives from their law enforcement

agencies in this new effort.

Ability to continuously monitor the hemisphere,

through the Situation Room of the IADB, to obtain

timely information on emergency alert or

occurrences of natural disasters or manmade, to

provide timely advice to the Council of Delegates the

IADB and this in turn to the OAS General Secretariat

and its institutions and agencies, according to the

emergency occurred.

ConclusionConclusion

To urge the OAS member states, especially small island

states in the Caribbean, to facilitate timely technical

assistance, stimulating interest in participating in issues

of mutual interest to the IADB and OAS, in order to

promote greater interaction and cooperation, in

accordance with the status of the IADB and the General

Assembly of the OAS.
