Mr. Massimo Meloni is an economist and international

investment expert in the Division on Investment and Enterprise of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

Mr. Meloni provides expert advice to Governments on economic policies, particularly as they relate to promoting foreign direct investment, the legal and regulatory framework for investment (investment codes, corporate taxation, foreign exchange regulations, labour law, competition, international trade, sectoral regulations) and investment promotion institutions.

Within UNCTAD, Mr. Meloni is responsible for the preparation of Investment Policy Reviews for

developing countries and economies in transition, and for the coordination of follow-up technical assistance programs. Investment Policy Reviews are comprehensive evaluations of a country’s policy, regulatory and institutional environment for investment.

He was key author of the Investment Policy Reviews of Brazil, Nigeria, the Dominican Republic, Belarus, Guatemala and Mongolia, and participated in the preparation of over 15 other Investment Policy Reviews. He also organized technical assistance programmes to implement the reports’ recommendations on the policy environment for investment, including tax policy reform, the regulation of different economic sectors, the modernization of the investment legislation, and the strengthening of investment promotion institutions.

Dr Mike Armitage (PhD, MIMMM, FGS, C.Geol., C.Eng.)

is a Corporate Consultant with SRK (UK) Ltd who has over twenty five years’ experience in the industry mainly producing and auditing mineral resource estimates and managing feasibility and due diligence studies.

Mike’s PhD was focused on resource estimation which remains his primary technical skill. Prior to joining SRK he worked on gold mines in South Africa and Zimbabwe. He has written several papers on resource and reserve estimation and reporting methodology and spent several years as joint course coordinator of an MSc in Mineral Resources at Cardiff University, and then as external examiner for the MSc in Metals and Energy Finance at Imperial College, University of London.

At SRK, he is currently mainly responsible for managing feasibility studies and stock exchange Competent Persons Reports on behalf of mining and exploration companies and also audits and

due diligence studies on behalf of investment institutions or in support of mergers and acquisitions.

During his time with SRK he has been both Managing Director and Chairman of the UK practice and SRK Group Chairman and remains Chairman of SRK Exploration Services. He also served as a council member and Vice President of the Geological Society between 2012 and 2015.

ROBIN BIRCHALLDirector, Silver Bear Resources Inc.

Mr. Robin Birchall served as Executive Chairman for the Company from March 2013 to January 2016. Mr. Birchall has

fourteen years of experience in resource corporate finance, most recently with BMO Capital Markets, where he completed a variety of high profile transactions for resource companies. Mr. Birchall has extensive experience financing companies in the former Soviet Union, having completed a large number of financing and acquisition transactions, including the landmark UrAsia financing in Kazakhstan and PhosAgro’s IPO on the London Stock Exchange. DORIAN L. (DUSTY) NICOLPresident and CEO, Azarga Metals Corp.

Dorian L. (Dusty) Nicol is President and CEO of Azarga Metals Corp. He is a geologist with over 40 years of

international experience in minerals exploration and mine development and operations. Mr. Nicol has focused on copper, gold and silver for most of his career. He has managed successful exploration programs in North and South America, Europe, Africa and southwest Pacific (Papua New Guinea).

Mr. Nicol has a B.Sc. degree in geology from M.I.T. and a M.A. degree in geology from Indiana University. He is a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists and of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) and a Registered Member of the Society of Mining Engineers. Mr. Nicol speaks six languages.

MIKHAIL DAMRINCEO, Kopy Goldfields AB

CEO of Kopy Goldfields is Mikhail Damrin, a Russian citizen born in 1970. He joined the company in January 2009.

Mikhail has studied engineering, mining and economics in both Russia and the UK, with an MSc degree in optical engineering, Moscow Technical University (Russia), a BSc degree in Mining engineering from the Tomsk Polytechnic University (Russia), a BSc degree in International Economics from the Russian Academy of Foreign Trade (Russia) and an MBA degree from the Cranfield University (UK).

During 2007-2008, Mikhail worked for Central Asia Gold AB as a senior project manager responsible for corporate development, M&A and planning. He has also held top management positions at West Siberian Resources and Vostok Nafta Investment Ltd. Mikhail Damrin is fluent in English and Russian.

His other assignments include being a board member of LLC Krasny.

NICK CLARKEExecutive Chairman, Central Asia Metals

Nick has over 40 years of mining experience, including 16 years spent within senior management positions in

production and technical services in South Africa, Ghana and Saudi Arabia. Nick served as the managing director of Oriel Resources plc until its acquisition by OAO Mechel for $1.5 billion in 2008. In addition, Nick was managing director at Wardell Armstrong International Ltd, where he managed numerous multidisciplinary consulting projects in the resource sector. He is a graduate of Camborne School of Mines and a Chartered Engineer. Nick is also a non-executive director of Wolf Minerals Ltd. In 2013, Nick was named CEO of the year at the Mining Journal outstanding achievements awards.

DMITRIY SNOPOVChairman and CEO, Exore Ltd

Dmitriy Snopov has almost 20 years of experience in the mining industry. He has studied mining technology at Dzhezkazgan Mining and

Processing Institute (Kazakhstan) and graduated at Karaganda University of Economics (Kazakhstan) with a BSc degree acquired. Dmitry then continued his education with a MBA from the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.

From there, he then worked as the Chief of the Procurement Department of Balkhash mining and processing plant at Kazakhmys Corporation (now KAZ Minerals PLC).

Operating his own business since 2005, with the main focus on supplying equipment and spare parts for the biggest mining companies in the region, Dmitriy has been successfully trading until the present day. Having various successful businesses in the related industry, he is currently focused on developing energy and natural resources projects.

Dmitriy is also involved in the development of a new “B2B” format of project services. This will also include major international investment projects, an action campaign in the field of engineering.

Antony Benham is the Chief Operations Officer for IGS (International Geoscience

Services) Limited, an independent company spun out from the British Geological Survey.

Antony has a First Class Honours degree in Geology from the University of Southampton, and a Masters in Mineral Resources from Cardiff University. He has 20 years experience as a geologist in industry and academia and has previously worked on the Witwatersrand and Bushveld Complex in South Africa as a mining and exploration geologist for Gold Fields, and as a geotechnical engineer in Hong Kong for SRK.

He formerly worked at the British Geological Survey where he was involved in many international projects including leading a project on platinum exploration in the UAE, an artisanal gold mining project in Ghana, and as Deputy Project Leader on a major DFID-funded project in Afghanistan from 2004-8.

At IGS Antony has lead a project working at the Geological Research Authority of the Sudan (GRAS), and is the Project Manager on a current three year project in Afghanistan, again funded by DFID, to improve capacity and capability at the Afghan Geological Survey and Ministry of Mines and Petroleum.

Christopher Weafer has worked in Russia and the Eurasia region for nineteen years. He co-founded Macro-Advisory Ltd in

late 2013 and prior to that he held the position of Chief Strategist at Sberbank-CIB, the biggest bank in the CIS-Eurasia region.

Prior to coming to Russia Chris worked as Head of Research for NatWest Markets in Bangkok, Thailand, during the Asian financial crisis of 1997/’98. Before that he was Senior Investment

Manager at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds, based in Abu Dhabi City. He has accumulated over thirty five years’ experience in emerging markets.

Chris is the author of a wide variety of published reports and articles about Russia, Central Asia, Mongolia, Iran and macro oil trends. He is also widely quoted in the international financial press and appears regularly on BBC, CNN International, CNBC and Bloomberg on these and related subjects.

Alexander Metherell; is a Managing Director and Co-Head of Global Banking at VTB Capital. With approximately two

He joined VTB Capital from Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein where he was responsible for heading the bank’s Natural Resources and Energy advisory franchise, and prior to that worked in the Strategic Advisory and M&A group at JP Morgan Cazenove in London. He is responsible for leading a large number of cross-border transactions across the wider Mining, Fertilisers, Oils and Metals sector, from both an M&A and ECM perspective. Vomic Nur Shah is the Regional Head for Business Development at UK Export Finance leading UKEF’s business development

efforts in Europe, Eurasia, Middle East and Asia-Pacific.

UKEF is the UK’s export credit agency with a mission to ensure that no viable UK export falls for lack of finance or insurance. It supports long term economic growth and competitiveness by complementing the private market with insurance for exporters, loan guarantees to banks, and support for and provision of loans to overseas buyers of UK goods and services.

Vomic is a seasoned professional in international finance with a career spanning over 15 years.

Before moving to public service in Her Majesty’s Government, Vomic held various leadership positions in corporate and investment banking, most recently with the French multi-national bank, Societe Generale, in London. At Societe Generale, Vomic headed the Mining and Natural Resources sector for the bank and covered a number of growth markets, including Central Asia.

Prior to that, Vomic worked at leading international banks including Citigroup, Standard Bank and HSBC.

During his career, Vomic has originated and executed cross-border transactions globally, and has worked closely with both the private sector and state authorities. He has had a particular focus on emerging markets providing both strategic advice as well as delivering structured financing solutions for projects across the CIS region, Middle East, Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe.

INGO HOFMAIERPartner, Head of Mining, Hannam & Partners (Advisory) LLP

Ingo has 17 years’ experience in corporate finance, corporate M&A and general management

in Europe, Africa and Asia. He heads Hannam & Partners mining vertical and has worked for multiple clients in Central Asia. Formerly with Rio Tinto, focusing on JVs and multi-jurisdictional transactions, he worked on the $5bn takeover of Ivanhoe and concluded a JV between Rio Tinto and Chinalco. Prior to this, Ingo was four years MD of Wienerberger in India and two years with Wienerberger’s corporate finance team in Vienna responsible for corporate M&A work & financial planning for the group. Ingo has an MA in Business (University of Eisenstadt – Austria) and is an INSEAD (Asian International Executive Programme – Shanghai) graduate. He is a CFA charterholder since 2004, attended the Imperial College “Mining Valuation” course and holds an Austrian engineering degree. His sector and commodity experience spans coal, bauxite and aluminium, iron ore, potash, phosphates, uranium, base metals, steel, alloys and building materials.

CATHERINE ARNOLDHer Majesty’s Ambassador to Mongolia,

Catherine Arnold has been appointed Her Majesty’s

Ambassador to Mongolia in succession to Mr Christopher Stuart, who has left the Diplomatic Service. She took up her appointment during May 2015.Ms Arnold joined the FCO in 2006. She has worked on a range of issues including human rights, counter terrorism and public affairs. After serving in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq and Oman, Ms Arnold returned to London to work in the FCO’s Prosperity Directorate before moving to UK Trade & Investment.

Before joining the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Miss Arnold worked in the financial services sector with assignments in London, New York and Europe, before spending time in the Middle East as a writer and journalist. She graduated from Cambridge University with a BA (first class) and MPhil, and also holds an MA from Nottingham UniversityOn her appointment as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Mongolia, Catherine Arnold has said: I am delighted to have been appointed as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Mongolia. It is a particular honour to serve in a country with such a fascinating history and promising future. I look forward to working with the Mongolian Government and people to build on the strong links between our countries to further our mutual prosperity and security.

ERIC RASMUSSENDirector Natural Resources, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

Mr. Rasmussen joined the EBRD in 1995 at the EBRD London HQ

and dealt with energy efficiency in district heating and industrial companies in the former Soviet Union (FSU). He was based in Russia from 1997 to 2013. He was appointed Deputy Country Director for Russia in 2003 and promoted in 2006 to Director of Industry, Commerce and Agribusiness in Russia in with responsibility for the industrial sector (including among other oil field service and energy equipment manufacturing, chemicals, metallurgy, mining, forestry, automotive, retail, agribusiness, telecom and equity funds). Eric Rasmussen was appointed Director Natural Resources 15 April 2013 and is now based at the EBRD HQ in London.

Mr. Rasmussen received his Master of Business Degrees from Aarhus Business School, Denmark, with major in banking, finance and a private law degree. Mr. Rasmussen holds Danish citizenship.

John Grogan was a Member of the British Parliament for 13

years from 1997 to 2010. He chaired the All Party Parliamentary Mongolia Group from 1997 to 2010. John is now Chairman of the Mongoluan British Chamber of Commerce. He has visited the country 42 times and has been awarded with the Pole Star ( which is the highest award which can be awarded to a foreigner by the Mongolian President) for his work to promote political and economic links between the two nations. Until recently John also chaired Hatfield Coal mine in Yorkshire which was the second last British deep coal mine to close

CEO of Erdenes Mongol LLC, Mongolian state-owned investment company. Erdenes Mongol objective is to become a leading investment company

in Mongolia’s key sectors, including mining, infrastructure and energy.

Tumentsogt (Tumen) served as a Chief Representative & Executive Director of General Electric (GE) in Mongolia since May 2011. His key responsibilities included marketing of GE products in power renewables, rail transportation, aviation, mining and healthcare sectors and assisting with project financing, business development, communications with clients and customers, liaison with the Government, assisting with establishing partnership to support GE businesses in Mongolia.

Currently, Tumen is working Board member of the CEO Club, Business Council of Mongolia and the Chamber of Commerce in Ulaanbaatar.

Tumen is a business executive with extensive experience in areas of project finance, investment

lending, infrastructure sectors (energy, renewables, rail, water). Previously, Tumen worked as a Senior Infrastructure Officer at the World Bank office in Ulaanbaatar and he managed and supported lending projects, analytical and advisory work in energy, renewables, urban, water, environment and infrastructure. Tumen has extensive experience of working for the Government of Mongolia, Energy Regulatory Authority and State Property Committee.

Tumen holds MSc degree in Electrical Engineering from Moscow Power Engineering Institute (Russia), and MPA in Public Administration from the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at the Indiana University (USA).

Ulf QUEllMANChief financial officer, rio tinto Copper and Diamonds

Effective 1 August 2016, Ulf has taken on the role of Chief Financial Officer, Copper and Diamonds for Rio Tinto. Prior to this Ulf had been

Group Treasurer before which he has held a number of senior financial positions at Alcan and General Motors in Montreal, New York and London respectively. Ulf is a Non-Executive Director of Spectris plc. He holds an MBA from London Business School.

pEtEr C. AkErlEYpresident, Chief Executive officer and Director, Erdene resource Development Corp

Mr. Akerley has over 25 years of experience in mineral exploration, corporate financing, project

development and management of publicly listed resource companies. He is one of the founders and principals of the Erdene group of companies and has held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation since March 2003. Mr. Akerley is a geologist who has worked extensively in foreign jurisdictions throughout his career, predominately in North and South America and Asia, with a focus on Mongolia, where he has led Erdene’s technical team through the confirmation of a major molybdenum-copper deposit, the discovery and definition of the Altan Nar gold deposit and the recent discovery of the Bayan Khundii gold project. He has extensive experience in corporate M&A, joint venture arrangements and financings, leading the companies through more than 20 such business arrangements

since taking the corporation public in 2004. Mr. Akerley served on the Board and Special Committee of Temex Resources Corp., advising on the sale of the company to Lake Shore Gold Corp., and is chairman of the TSX-V listed Morien Resources Corp., where he was involved in the sale of the Donkin Coal and Black Point Aggregate projects, converting those interests into royalties. He also pioneered the company’s involvement as the founding and lead sponsor of the very successful Catapult leadership program in Nova Scotia. Mr. Akerley has a BSc (1988) from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, specializing in geology, and has completed the Institute of Corporate Directors Audit Committee Effectiveness course in December 2012. He is also a director of TSX-V listed Barisan Gold Corp.

SAM SpriNGDirector, president and CEo, kincora Copper limited

Natural Resource and Industrial sector buy/sell-side and executive experience, with a focus on the junior/mid-market mining sector

Sam is President and CEO of Kincora Copper Ltd (KCC.CN), a Canadian listed copper exploration and development company with assets in Mongolia. He is also an Operating Adviser to Sandown Bay Resource Capital, a specialist mining private equity fund.

Since his executive involvement with Kincora, two equity offerings have been oversubscribed, the Company has been one of the most active copper exploration groups in Mongolia, oxide development studies commenced, discussions advanced for strategic investment, together with an active M&A strategy. Sam lead industry lobby efforts with the Government of Mongolia for the resolution of the 106-exploration license dispute resulting in the return of Kincora’s two previously revoked licenses, and drove its program to expand its license portfolio post legislative change.

Prior to Kincora, Sam was recognised as one of the leading European Metals and Mining research analysts, having won the Association of Mining Analysts (UK) Equity Mining Analyst of the Year, before becoming Vice-President of Mining Investments for Origo Partners PLC, a natural resource private equity company. Sam has over 10 years of financial service and/or junior-mid cap mining sector experience including various disciplines within the Goldman Sachs Group and Ocean Equities (now part of Pareto Securities), within the UK and Australia.

Dr ANDrEW StEWArtManaging Director & CEo, Xanadu Mines ltd

Dr Andrew Stewart is an exploration geologist with over 15 years’ experience with porphyry copper-gold and epithermal gold

systems around the world and has primarily been involved with front end exploration, project generation and business development strategies. Andrew holds a BSc (Hons) from Macquarie University and a PhD from the Centre of Ore Deposits and Exploration Studies at the University of Tasmania. During his time Ivanhoe Mines, Oxiana and Vale Andrew held various technical and management positions and has been involved with numerous international green fields’ discoveries and mining projects. During his time with Ivanhoe Mines he was instrumental in the recognition of the porphyry mineralisation systems in the under-explored south Gobi region of Mongolia including the Oyu Tolgoi and Kharmagtai Cu-Au porphyry deposit. Whilst working for Vale in an executive position in Mongolia and subsequently Indonesia, Andrew joined Xanadu Mines as Chief Geologist leading the business strategy to build a portfolio of gold and base metals project Mongolia.
