Classes & Clubs: Frequently Asked Questions: What type of clothing should I wear?

If you are partaking in an exercise class we advise you to wear clothing you can move comfortably in and

supportive footwear. Also bring a bottle of water. How do I register to join a class?

Come along to the class and the tutor will have the forms to fill in. If you need help filling these in, please

don’t hesitate to ask. Our tutors keep weekly registers of all enrolled members and will keep this information

for the Ageactivity database. How early can I arrive for my class?

Ageactivity appreciate that you may want to be a few minutes early for your class, Our buildings are in con-

stant use. Ageactivity require our members to arrive no earlier than five minutes before their class com-

mences, otherwise you may be asked to leave until the class starts. Why are the times and dates of classes sometimes changed?

ments. We endeavour to inform class members and Ageactivity members of class cancellations, dates and

times. Classes/Clubs may be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. Please accept our apologies if

you do not get informed of cancellations.

Walking Club: Frequently Asked Questions:

What type of clothing should I wear & what should I bring with me on a walk?

If you are partaking in a walk, we advise you to wear clothing you can move comfortably in

plus supportive footwear. Wear layers on colder/wetter days. Also bring a drink, a packed

lunch and snacks, as we cannot guarantee that you’ll be able to purchase food at walk desti-

nation. Always bring money along in case you need to pay for tickets etc. How do we buy tickets to destinations?

The Walking club has found over the years that the best way of purchasing tickets is with one

person buying a group ticket and then being reimbursed on the day. Please note we cannot

use senior railcards as this causes too many problems with difference in price of tickets. What if I’d like to stay at the walk destination?

If we are heading to a destination and you wish to stay on at the end of the arranged walk,

you must tell the group leader before they purchase the group ticket. You will have to buy a

separate ticket which may cost more.

If however you’re included in the group ticket you will have to return at the same time as the

group that you have travelled to the destination with.

attending our coach trips: 1. There will always be a first aid trained member of Ageactivity/CCA staff on board the coach.

2. Always bring required medication and mobility aids.

3. Seats to the front of the coach are reserved for those less mobile & disabled.(Please contact us)

4. Other seats on the coach are never allocated, its a first come first served basis. So please make

sure you arrive with plenty of time to avoid disappointment.

5. Always listen to staff or coach driver when they announce important details such as where to

meet the coach and times of pick up.

6. We give out emergency mobile telephone number cards. If you get lost or ill you can contact

a member of staff during the trip.

7. We hold two fun raffles, one on the journey out and the other on the way back. All money

raised goes back into Ageactivity and activities provided for members.

8. If you wish to complain please speak to a staff member about this and not to fellow passengers.
