OCTOBER 14- 28TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

“It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

MARK 10:25 Jesus uses tough language

that we may not want to hear. But, we are all called to be

generous with all our gifts. Not just the ones we pick and

choose, but all our gifts: our time in prayer to God, our

talent in participating in parish ministries and our treasure

supporting our local parish and

other charities.

WORD OF LIFE “Heavenly Father ...give us love

for all people, especially the most vulnerable, and help us bear

witness to the truth that every life is worth living.”

OUR VOLUNTEERS ARE VALUABLE

We have always known that the many parishioners who volunteer to serve in our vari-ous parish organizations and ministries are most valuable. Now we have confirmation. Based on the average hourly wage, experts currently esti-mate that one hour of volunteer time is worth $17.55. However, to us your volunteer time is invaluable. Through the gifts of time and talent that our parishioners so generously share we are able to truly be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in our community. Many thanks to all those faithful and generous stewards who volunteer in our community and parish! Your time is worth everything to us!

-Pope Paul VI to Archbishop Romero

You learn to speak by speaking, to study by study-ing, to run by running, to work by working, and just so, you learn to love by loving. All those who think to learn in any other way deceive themselves.

YOUCAT QUESTION OF THE WEEK Who created the world? God created the world and every-thing that exists depends on God for their existence. The World was created by a Trinitarian God with each person

being a part of creation in a different way. The Father is the Creator. The Son is the meaning and heart of the world for "All things were created through him and for him" (Col 1:16).

The Holy Spirit holds all of creation together for he is the one "that gives life" (Jn 6:63).
