MC Retires After 28 Years
We had a full house on November 16, 2014 as collegians, alumni, current and former house directors of other chapters, family, and friends came together to celebrate an absolutely amazing woman.
After 28 years of turning the walls of the Alpha Gamma Delta house into a home, our beloved house mom has retired. We chose to celebrate by having sisters, spanning all decades, share a story and toast to MC. There was laughing, crying, and an overall feeling of gratitude on that day. It was perfect!
As part of our gift of thanks for 28 years of leadership and service, the Alumnae Chapter, House Association, Chapter Advisers, and Delta Chapter have come together to sponsor MC’s Initiation Fees and Dues. LETTER FROM ALUMNAE CHAPTER PRESIDENT
Dear Sisters,
As each year passes, Alpha Gamma Delta provides me friendships and experiences that touch my heart. In college, it was often difficult to describe what Alpha Gam meant to me. We would sit at recruitment workshops and practice our stories and words, only to end in pause because our sisterhood isn’t something that is easily described in a few sentences.
I believe this is true now more than ever! Thanks to our fraternity I have long-lasting friendships, women I look up to, stories that inspire me, and new sisters who live our Ritual. I am humbled and honored to be part of our Alpha Gamma Delta sisterhood.

Initiation with MC
Aligned with International requirements, as well as MC’s wishes, this Spring’s Initiation will have a regular pledge class. MC will be one of many sisters we welcome into our circle. Join us!

LETTER FROM CHAPTER ADVISOR
This year has been one of continued growth, scholastic excellence and significant change for Delta Chapter!
Fall formal recruitment was a success, receiving quota plus. We welcomed 45 new members to the chapter, bringing membership to 135 women. The U of M’s sorority community strength resulted in raising chapter totals from 128 to 138 across campus. Continuous ongoing recruitment is in progress as we roll into the spring in order to maintain a full roster.
Scholarship results were positive for the fall of 2014, with Alpha Gam exceeding the fraternity’s Strive for Pi goal (3.14), as well as the University of Minnesota’s All PHC average (3.26) achieving a 3.28 chapter GPA. We rank 6 out of 14 sororities reporting on campus.
Perhaps the biggest change for Delta this year has been the retirement of Ms. Mary Cope (MC) after 28 years of service, and the welcoming in of Ms. Rebecca Steinkruger, the chapter’s new Housing Director who started her role this past January 13th.
We are delighted to be initiating MC with our spring pledge class, so please do come join us for this incredibly special event.

Get Involved in Rose Vines
Interested in connecting with a current member over dinner? The Delta Chapter is looking to hold more Rose Vines dinners this semester and in the future. Consider attending!
Rose Vines is an event for alumnae to share their career experiences and knowledge with a young woman look-ing to pursue the same path. They take place during a Monday night dinner the chapter house on campus.

Congrats on Greek Awards
Alpha Gamma Delta came home last week from Greek Awards with some wonderful recognition!
Great job to Aly Dahmen for leading the chapter to win "Outstanding Recruitment Program" for the third year in a row, and congratulations to Shannon Hargis who received the "Living with Ritual" award.
We are beaming with pride because MC was recognized as "Greek Advo-cate of the Year" and our very own Ashley Harville for received "Greek Alumna of the Year!”

House Association has had an eventful year already!
During winter break we completed a full refresh of the house director apartment. This refresh was in great partnership with the chapter, and included an updated bathroom as well as new furniture.
This summer we look forward to completing the final phase of the fire sprinkler system. As many of you may know this project has been on the radar for close to 15 years, so we are glad to accomplish such a project!
