• Born in Torquay, England

• Youngest of three children

• Father died when she was 10.

• Entered school for the first time at age 16.

• Began to write and sing.

December 24, 1914 - Married

• Husband – Archie Christie – Naval pilot

• Agatha worked as a nurse during World War I.

• Wrote first novel shortly after – The Mysterious Affair at Styles

Her mother dies in 1926.

• Agatha takes death extremely hard and goes “missing”. When found, she claims amnesia.

• Divorces Archie in 1928.

• Begins traveling extensively to France and the Middle East

September 11,1930 – Married Again

• Husband – Sir Max Edgar Lucien Mallowan – archaeologist

• She travels with him while continuing to write.
