Training Spotlight: Cork City Childcare

In February Ag Eisteacht ran two How to Argue Better courses for Cork City Childcare. Cork City Childcare are a partnership which focuses on facilitating and integrating the provision of quality childcare services and facilities in line with recognised childcare principles. The Cork City Childcare participants included Child and Family Development Workers, Childcare Assistants, Childcare Managers, Play Therapists, Montessori Teachers and Pre-school assistants.

“The DVD, exercises and discussion helped me get a real understanding of the material - facilitation of the group was very good, everyone got a chance to share their views” Project Worker

“I found the workshop helpful as I could see how to step back and not let conflict escalate” Deputy Supervisor

“Very good training, helped to raise awareness of the issue. Excellent material in resource pack. Can see it being used to train staff for raising awareness” Ann Lane, Manager

Training Spotlight: Limerick Homeless Sector Staff Training

Staff from Limerick’s Homeless Sector Services, supported by Rob Lowth, Limerick County Council and the Homeless Action Team, attended Ag Eisteacht’s Brief Encounters® Blended Learning Workshop on October 24th and the Refresher Workshop on December 4th in Limerick.

“The course was very interesting, and it was nice to revisit all those qualities, and remind myself of how I interact with both staff and service users, and the importance of meeting a person where they are at and with an open mind and an open heart. “ Monika Wachala, Coordinator, ADAPT Domestic Abuse Services

In 2015 Ag Eisteacht will be running the Homeless Initiative Brief Encounters® 3 Day Courses in Waterford and Galway.
