• How long will the cover last? The cover has UV inhibitors that protect the cover from the harmful sunlight. If the cover is kept tight (done easily using ratchets that keep the cover taut) 20 years is a very reasonable life expectancy. Early covers were made of 6 oz material and there are many of them still in use that are 20 years old. New buildings come standard with a 12 oz cover.

• How much does it cost to replace the cover? Typically the cover costs between 15% and 20% of the cost of the building kit. At the time of construction the cost is approximately 10%

• How often do I have to tighten the cover? Normally you will have to tighten the cover once about a year after it is installed. Once the “stretch” is out of the cover material it won’t need to be tightened again. And tightening is easy as well. Even covers on huge buildings can be tightened in about half an hour.

Hoop FAQ • If I get a hole in the cover can you fix it?

Yes, we can. Your local dealer can heat-weld a patch that is as strong as the original cover. Also, we have “stick-on” patches that can be applied by the owner, as well.

• I have a windy location. Will it stand up to the wind? When properly installed our covers should not move except in the most extreme wind conditions. If you see the cover flap even slightly in a normal “March wind” then it probably needs to be tightened. Our truss buildings typically are engineered to a 90 MPH wind load, and canvas buildings originated in the upper mid-west portion of North America, one of the windiest places in the world.

clear options may be available upon request. Any building with fitted ends attached to the main cover such as Cabins, Run in Shelters or Calf Shelters, has a 5 year pro-rated warranty.

• 3 year pro-rated warranty on all 6oz & 7.5oz tarps. This includes roof tarp only.

• 2 year pro-rated warranty on all end tarps. This includes all 1/4 panels, solid ends, roll-up door and accutrack door tarps.

• 6 year pro-rated warranty on 12oz Fire Retardant tarps. • Pro-Rated Warranty: If cover needs replacing, the

customer/purchaser would be held responsible for the cost at 1/15 or 6.66% of the current list price per year.

Definitions • Combination Farrow to Finishing – A farrow to finish

operation maintains a sow breeding herd and feeds the pigs to a finished market weight. An operation could have a 1200 head sow herd with modern buildings and equipment to care for the sow herd during gestation, farrowing, and lactation. This operation also has facilities for the weaned pigs to be grown to a finished weight. Pigs are weaned at 19-21 days of age and placed in a growing-finish facility for 165 days. Average daily gain is approximately 1.55 pounds per day and finished hogs are marketed at a weight of 270 pounds. If feeder pigs are sold rather than kept, the weaned pigs are kept in a nursery for 6 weeks before being sold as 50 lbs feeder pigs. (a friend sells at 240 pounds)
