CAMERA PANS ACROSS CITY LIMITS AT SUNRISE REVEALING CRUMBLEDAND DAMAGED BUILDINGS. STOPS AND ZOOMS IN ON BARELY DAMAGEDAPARTMENT BUILDING. CAMERA MOVES THROUGH EACH ROOM SHOWINGDAMAGE THEN FINALLY TO BENS BEDROOM WHERE THE WHOLE WALL

HAS BEEN TORN DOWN CAUSING A COLD DRAFT TO COME THROUGH THEROOM. CU OF BEN IN BED PULLING COVERS OVER HIM AS THE BREEZEKEEPS BLOWING THEM OFF. WS OF BEN SITTING UP IN HIS BED ONTHE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE TORN DOWN WALL THEN GETTING UP ANDWALKING TO THE HALLWAY.

BENHello! Mom?...dad? What time is it?

Ben goes through the damaged apartment down to the kitchenwhere another wall is torn down...

Guess they went to work already.

He looks over at the flickering microwave clock thatswitches from 7:44 to 7:45

BENOh no I better get ready forschool, the bus will be here anyminute.

He runs upstairs quickly grabbing clothes that dont matchthen grabs his backpack and returns downstairs and outsideto the bus stop just outside his apartment.

WS OF BEN STANDING AT BUS STOP. BUILDINGS BURNING AROUNDHIM. LIGHT CHANGING SHOWING TIME PASSING. FADING BEN INDIFFERENT POSITIONS AROUND THE BUS STOP.

Finally a building across the street collapses as Benwatches in awe.

BEN...Wait a minute...

he looks around finally noticing everything is on fire

BENIf everything is on fire, and thebus didnt come to get me, thenthat must mean...NO SCHOOL!

He runs back inside up to his room

A VIDEO GAME CONTROLLER, THEN GAME CARTRIDGE BEING PUT INTOCONSOLE.

Ben goes to grab the remote to turn on the tv. Sparks flyout of the tv and it explodes. Bens face goes from extremeexcitement to utter sadness. Suddenly his stomach growls.

BENBawwww...so hungry. Wheres mom anddad? They should have been home anhour ago. Guess I should go seewhat we have in the fridge.

Ben gets up and goes back to the kitchen and looks in thefridge.

BENHmm Lettuce, tomatoes,sardines...Ugh why dont we have

food in this house!?!?

He goes over to the pantry

BENBread. No. Taco shells. No.

CAMERA ZOOMS IN ON A BOX OF CAKE MIX IN THE BACK OF THEPANTRY.

BENJackpot!

He starts reading the directions on the box.

BENLets see. To enjoy delicious cakeyou will also need 3 eggs and onecup of milk.

Ben finds eggs and a half gallon of milk in the fridge, setsthem on the table, and continues to read the instructions

BENAlright step two. Mix milk and eggswith cake mix and pour mixture intocake pan and place in oven at 400degrees. Warning...DO NOT OPERATEOVEN WITHOUT AN ADULTSSUPERVISION!?!?! Awww man what am Igunna do now?...I know Ill just goto grandmas house. She makes thebest cake.

Ben quickly leaps over the rock and swings his sword downjust missing Doug, after realizing that Doug is in fact justa turtle with a cereal bowl for a shell, that is

continuously spilling out cereal and milk, and who justhappens to be in the middle of a poop.

DOUGWhat! No!

BENWhat are you doing!?

DOUG

Im trying to go to the bathroom ifyou dont mind!

BENoh...oh my bad.

Ben jumps back over the rock. resting his back on the otherside.

BENI thought you were a mutant, butyoure just a turtle.

DOUGYes, I know that, but how manyturtles do you know (Grunt) with acereal bowl for their shell.

DOUGThats what I thought. (Grunts) myshell was destroyed last night(Grunts) and ever since Ive had touse this cereal bowl I found as anew one. (Grunt)

Ben picks up Doug and puts him in the side pocket of hisbackpack.

WS CAMERA QUICKLY PANS OVER TO A BRIDGE GOING OVER A RIVERWITH A FOREST ON THE OTHER SIDE.

Just then a snap of a twig is heard off to the side of thepath. Doug yelps and grabs onto the side of Bens head.

A Twinkie shaped pastry comes out from behind a tree. Dougclimbs down from Bens head and onto his shoulder. Benlowers his sword and bends down to talk to her.

over. They continue on the path.

DOUGMy shell was destroyed during "TheHappening" so I have to wear thisthing now.

So now Imheaded to see my grandma so she canhelp me make some delicious cake.

CU of megan staring blankly at Ben. Then cut to Doug.

CU OF BEN LOOKING PROUD.

BENAnd a gun.

Ben takes his toy laser gun out and points it into the airbefore pulling the trigger. The gun starts making lasersounds.

OLD FORREST PART 2: THE ENEMY

The group makes their way deeper into the Old Forrest.

MEGANWhere exactly does your grandmalive anyways?

BENIm not sure exactly but I thinkwere close. Doug, youre fromthese parts how close are we fromthe rest home?

DOUGNot too far now, Should be just upthe path a ways.

BENGood. Im starving.

MEGANUm...

CU OF MEGAN AND DOUGS FACES SHOWING SIGNS OF PITTY FOR BENSILLINTELLECT.

Just then another sound is heard up ahead in the path.

MEGANWh...What was that?

BENI dont know...

Ben puts his hand on his laser gun ready to draw, Doug rollshis eyes. They hear the sound again.

MEGANThere it was again.

Once again the sound is heard.

DOUGWhose there dag nabbit?!?

A cockroach comes out of the woods blocking the groups path.

COCKROACHHAHA it is I,...Kevin. King of allcockroaches right hand man and

helper of all that is evil!

MEGANOh...so youre like a secretary.Maybe he can help us.

COCKROACHWhat? No, Im not like a secretaryIm the king of all cockroachesright hand man.

BENBut youre not "THE" king of all

cockroaches.

COCKROACHWell no thats Steve, but I am hisright hand man.

DOUGSounds like a secretary to me.

MEGANYeah, but arent secretaries usuallywomen?

COCKROACHShut up! Im not a woman, or asecretary! Im the king of allcockroaches right hand man! andIve been sent here to destroy you!

MEGANWhy?

COCKROACHWell cause Im a cockroach. Weregross, scary and supposedly one ofthe only species that can livethrough the apocalypse. Ive beensent to make sure thats the case!

Ben pulls out his laser gun and pulls the trigger. Lasersounds come out of it and the sides light up.

COCKROACHAAAH! A gun!

BENTake this!

COCKROACHAAAH!

Cockroach runs behind a tree in panic. Ben continuesscreaming firing shots in his direction. The cockroach thenrealizes that there are no actual shots coming out of thegun, Then peeks his head out from around the tree.

COCKROACHWait a minute...

Cockroach then comes the rest of the way out from behind the

tree.

COCKROACHThats not even a real gun!

BENMaybe not, but how bout this!

(Pokemon parody begins) artwork switches to a more japanesecartoon style and action music begins to play. Ben grabsDoug out of his backpack pocket and throws him towards thecockroach.

BENDoug, I choose you

DOUGWhats happening!?!?

COCKROACHWhat the?...

BENDoug, Use milk bullet attack!

DOUGDo what!?

Suddenly the milk dripping out of the cereal bowl Doug isusing as a shell starts to morph into droplets of milkfloating in air right before speeding off towards thecockroach covering him in milk.

DOUGAAAAAAH! Whats happening?

COCKROACHAAAAAAH! Im all wet! Is this

milk!?

BENDoug, now use bowlerang!

DOUGWhat does that even mean!?

The bowl suddenly levitates off of Dougs back and startsspinning rapidly. The cockroach starts screaming and runningaway.Doug covering himself starts leaping in the air tryingto grab his bowl.

DOUGHey cut it out! Im naked!

The bowl then takes off, chasing after him, then hitting himin the head knocking him down. The bowl then returns landingsafely on dougs back.

BENGood! Now finish him off with anutritious trap attack!

DOUGI dont know whats going on! Whatdo these words mean!?!? Im old andconfused!

A cheerio shaped peice of cereal comes out of Dougs bowl andshoots off towards the cockroach trapping him in the centerof it, still knocked out. Artwork style returns to normaland all japanese effects fade away.

OLD FORREST PART 3: THE BATTLE

The group continues down the path then notice an opening upahead to a large hill.

BENHey! That must be it. Were soclose!

DOUGWell Ill be...

Megan sniffs the air.

MEGANWhats that smell?

Ben and Doug sniff the air becoming disgusted.

BENEw gross! What is that?

MEGANIt smells like spoiled milk.

Megan and Ben look down at Dougs bowl spilling milk

everywhere.

DOUGHey, dont look at me. This milk isfresh.

Megan climbs from Bens shoulder onto his backpack andunzips it and climbs inside.

MEGANAwwww gross! Its in here!

Megan pushes the half gallon of milk from Bens backpack outof the pocket.

BENOh yeah thats the milk for thecake my grandmas going to help usmake.

Since this morning.

MEGANGross!

DOUGThe heat from all of the flamesaround here must have warmed it upand made it go bad.

As the group gets closer to the opening they hear whatsounds like a group of voices from up ahead.

MEGANWhats that?

Ben hides the group behind a tree and looks around it.Dozens of cockroaches come from the other side of the hillcarrying tiny spears and torches.

BENIts more bad guys

COCKROACH 1We sure showed them!

COCKROACH 2Yeah! Nobody makes it through theapocalypse but us!

All the cockroaches cheer.

COCKROACH 1Alright fellas good job! Now spreadout and search the area. Make surewe dont leave any behind.

Whispering behind the tree.

MEGANWhat do we do.

BENI got this.

Ben reaches for his sword.

Megan looks around the tree from Bens shoulder.

MEGANTheyre getting closer.

MEGANWhat do we do?! What do we do?!

Two cockroaches make thier way closer to the tree. The groupgets quiet in panic. Ben presses himself against the tree.One of the cockroaches sniffs the air.

COCKROACH 1Hey, you smell something?

Second cockroach sniffs the air.

COCKROACH 2

Ew. What is that?

MEGAN(whispering closer to Bensear)

Oh no! The milk!

In a panic Ben steps on a twig causing it to snap.

COCKROACH 1What was that?

COCKROACH 2It came from over there

DOUGsigh*

COCKROACH 2(Calling back to the others)

Hey! Over here! We heard something!

Dozens of other cockroaches run over.

Over there. Behind that tree.

MEGANYou gotta get rid of the milk.

BENWait a minute thats it!

DOUGWhat? What are you doing?

BENMegan hand me the milk.

Megan nods and quietly climbs down into Bens backpack thencoming back out handing the milk to Ben.

DOUGWhats going on

BENShh. Be quiet.

The cockroaches slowly get closer to the tree.

BEN

Just a little bit closer.

COCKROACH 1Whose there!?

Ben lets out a war cry and jumps out from behind the tree,throwing the milk on the ground. The milk jug then splatterscovering a majority of he cockroaches causing them to gagand drown.

COCKROACHEw! What is this!

COCKROACH 1Cockroaches attack formation!

Dozens of other cockroaches appear from the woods and intrees all holding tiny spears and torches ready to attack.

MEGANNow what?

COCKROACHIt seems you have weakened ourforces. But now, as Steve, King ofall cockroaches right hand man I

will destroy you and take you andyour weapons back to the king andclaim my prize!

COCKROACH 2Hey, I thought I was the kingsright hand man.

COCKROACH 1I thought I was!

COCKROACH 3Youre all wrong. I am the right

hand man of the king!

All of the cockroaches start yelling at each other eachclaiming to be the kings right hand man.

DOUGAlright! We get it! Youre allsecretaries!

The cockroaches yelling comes to a sudden halt.

COCKROACHWhat did you call us?

MEGANWell youre not women but obviouslyyou all want to be this "King" guyssecretary but Im sure you can allhelp him out in some way oranother.

BENYeah! Like Santa and his elves!

COCKROACH

We are not secretaries or elves! Weare an army. Made up of theultimate race. The apocolypse hascome and now we are in control. wewill take over this world anddestroy anyone who gets in our way!Starting with you. When I take youback to the king I be named hissecretary!

All the roaches hold their spears and torches in the air andcharge the group. Megan jumps back in Bens backpack tohide.

DOUGDo something!

Ben steps on a group of the roaches killing some but thiertiny spears peirce the bottom of his shoe and prick hisfoot.

BENOW!

DOUGWhat!?

BENThey have spears!

DOUGOh right.

Megan emerges from the backpack holding Bens toy laser gun

and starts firing shots.

COCKROACHAaaah! she has a gun!

A large group of the roaches flee in fear. While others stayto fight.

DOUGWould you cut it out with the gun!?

MEGANIt got rid of some of them didnt

it?

A group of roaches with torches charge Ben. Ben bends overand stares them in the face. The roaches stop frozen in fearright in front of his face. Ben smiles and blows out thiertorches.

COCKROACHRetreat!

The roaches with torches flee leaving only a few dozen morewith tiny spears left to fight. They charge Ben and poke himin the face with one leaving a small cut.

BENOw! Hey!

Ben stands back up and the roaches start stabbing his legs.

BENHey cut it out!

MEGANDoug, Do something!

DOUGIm Trying!

CU OF DOUG

Doug closes his eyes and starts grunting trying to triggerhis inner powers.

MS OF ROACHES

The roaches start climbing up Bens pants leg in order toreach them.

CU OF DOUG

still struggling and grunting eventually letting out a small

poo which falls hitting one of the roaches in the face andknocking him to the ground.

COCKROACHGet Them!

MEGANOh no!

A horn goes off in the disance. The roaches stop and lookoff towards the sound.

COCKROACH

Its the king.

COCKROACH 1He needs me.

COCKROACH 3Pff he needs me!

The roaches start climbing down off of Ben and retreating tothe sound.

COCKROACHYou got lucky this time kid, but

well be back! Back to destroy youand your friends! You cannot hidefrom us!

The roaches dissapear into the distance.

GRANDMAS COOKING

MEGANThat was close.

BENSoooo, do we wait here, or are theyjust going to find us?

DOUGNo, we dont wait here! They hadspears and fires!

DOUGThis isnt a game kid! This isreal! Those guys wanted to kill us!

BENBut they were so tiny.

MEGANBen youre bleeding.

BENIm fine. I can protect us.

DOUGBen, look at me, this is real.Something happened last night. Idont know what but its effectingall of us. Your parents, the otherpastries, my family, we dont knowwhere they are. For all we know wecould be the last survivors. Itcould be just us and them left andwho knows how many of them thereactually are. Eventually our sizemay not make a difference againsttheir numbers.
