Executive Producer Jesper Winge Leisner. In 2017 Musikhuset Aarhus rethinks three masterpiece movies by acclaimed Danish director Susanne Bier. More than one million Danes have seen the Oscar-winner’s Brothers (2004), After the Wedding (2006), and Open Hearts (2002). Next year as part of Aarhus European Capital of Culture 2017 they are transformed from the screen to the stage respectively as dance, opera and musical theatre. This landmark event - The Bier Trilogy - is the first time Musikhuset Aarhus acts both as a producer and as a venue. Musikhuset Aarhus hopes to inspire local, national and international audiences by bringing these powerful Danish stories to life in a new way, leaving a lasting artistic legacy.
