Students will prepare and eat healthy global inspired recipes all while learning to cook in a fun, engaging and real world way! Our Chefs will reinforce kitchen skills associated with our weekly recipes and each area of cooking terminology, foods and fun nutrition facts (even a few bad jokes!) We will practice measurements, use a wide array of cooking utensils, while always preparing the freshest ingredients. Full recipes will be created each class with our AWESOME master chef Sticky Fingers Cooking instructors. Sticky Fingers Cooking offers young chefs the chance to explore exciting tastes (all seasonal and as local as possible!), master culinary skills (that they can put to use in family kitchens!) and nourish their bodies and minds.
Amazing Minds

Explore coun-tries near and far, land and water animals, rocks and min-erals, and stormy weather. Build rock collections, exca-vate Ancient Egyptian tombs. Learn to use tools that help you solve problems such as calculators, magnifying glass-es, microscopes, tape measures and geology kits. Exercise your brain after school.
Art with Mari Krasney

You will also learn to observe your surroundings, visualize a product, and conceptualize an outcome while drawing and painting. New projects will be offered each session!
La Crosse
Registration # 151610-05 2-5 Grade Time: 3:35-4:35 pm Min/Max: 6/15 Fee: $173 Let’s learn the oldest and fastest growing team sport in North America. This class will cover various lacrosse tech-niques including cradling, scooping, passing, catching, shooting and goalie skills.
Thunderbolts Flag Football

Time: 3:35-4:35 pm Min/Max: 6/15 Fee: $307 Thunderbolts: Join us this fall for another fun season of flag football with Coach Steve and crew. We have a blast learning all about football in a safe environment. We team up with our buddies to play against kids from the other 3 Deerfield schools on Friday evenings. Every new partici-pant will receive an NFL Flag football jersey!
After School Club

After School Club is available to those parents wish-

enjoy a snack. Pick-up time is by 6:00 PM.
Amazing Art

Amazing Art combines all your favorite art projects and mixed media in this unique class. Kids will make Tie Dye shirts (art smocks for the session), experience pottery painting, create fired ceramic arts, paint a canvas acrylic painting, do recycled arts projects and more. Lessons will include concepts and techniques kids can use for a lifetime and the experience of creating awesome projects will re-sult in great self esteem and a sense of accomplishment.

Triple Play

This class features three sports: football, soccer and Dodgeball. Participants develop skills associated with each sport and have opportunities to use these skills in game situations. Emphasis is placed on skill development, team-work and sportsmanship.
Pegasus FC Soccer Clinic

Time: 3:35-4:35 pm Min/Max: 8/15 Fee: $240 The Chicago Fire Soccer Class is a fun, energetic soccer pro-gram run by professional coaches from the Chicago Fire North Soccer Our age appropriate curriculum will allow all players to have fun developing their soccer skills. The fun-damental techniques of dribbling, passing, shooting and defending will be taught during skill based activities and small sided scrimmages.

We will draw two–three characters each class following step-by-step instructions while mastering drawing fundamentals as they apply to both animation and realistic figure drawing. Students will exploring different drawing styles and media including pencil, colored pencil, watercolor pencil, charcoal and pastel. New projects will be done each session!

Go For It Girls

Fit 4 Kids™: The original kids fitness program. We get kids moving and show them that fitness can be fun!!! Forget push-ups and sit-ups, we play fun games like noodle tag, mousetrap, gladiator and much more. Fun sports like dodge ball and kickball. Balls, hula hoops, jump ropes, par-achutes and more will help guide us through our activities. Little Footlighters

Through physical warm-up, improvi-sation, theatre games, and storybook theatre, students learn the basic tools for acting and performance. Grossology

Stu-dents explore how blood is pumped, food digested, air is breathed and brain thinks. Grossology is a combination of anatomy and physiology and performing hands-on science experiments to help better understand (the way the body works) in a fun way.
Amigos Spanish Club
Registration # 151610-18 K-5 Grade Time: 3:40-4:40 pm Min/Max: 6/12 Fee: $250 Learning Spanish is as easy as uno, dos, tres! In After-school Amigos Spanish club, children will learn numbers, colors, shapes, greetings, days of the week and more. We will be singing, clapping, and counting our way towards learning the Spanish Language. Each child will receive a participation award.

One of the best ways to develop your basketball game is through game play, and in Game Time you do just that. Each week, bas-ketball players are challenged through various games including 1-on-1, 3-on-3, and 5-on-5. Coaches referee and guide the class to enhance the players understanding of the game.
Cheerleading

Futsal is an extremely exciting and faced pace form of in-door soccer taking the world by storm. HP Elite develops proper technical foundations for the sport. Players will im-prove foot skills, passing, placing skills in game situations, and quick thinking. Come out and try Futsal for your young player.
Homework Club with Mrs. Keidan

Get a jump on the homework before you get home! Mrs. Keidan will give you support on homework, and help de-velop study skills for tests. Students will have the oppor-tunity to use the math manipulatives, access XtraMath or Pearson Success Net, as well as access one on one sup-port. Students will receive individualized attention and receive help with their homework and specific skills based on their grade level in school.
Karate with Focus Martial Arts

Build coordination, agility, strength and poise; release tension and get in touch with your body. Karate helps foster a strong, positive self-image. The mental aspect builds confidence, control and discipline while developing muscle tone, cardiovascular fit-ness and skills. Advanced students improve techniques and learn valuable self-defense skills.
Boxing and Fitness By Ace

These experiences span from the Olympics 1996, Pan American Games 1995 and 1999 and the World Cup Boxing Tournament 1998. By participating in boxing training students will learn valuable boxing combinations, foot and hand speed, coordination, strength and balance. Boxing helps strengthen your body and mind, building strong character, discipline, confidence, respect and self-defense skills. There will be no Sparring.

Chess with Chess Scholars

All participants will learn cool new strategies at the appropriate level from a renowned Chess Scholars coach. Each class will consist of a fun interactive teaching period and guided practice time.

Children are grouped by age and are taught age appropriate tricks. All materials provided. Your child will take home a magic trick of his own. New lessons each workshop!
South Park Before Care
The Deerfield Park District’s is excited to be offering the before school care program for boys and girls from Kindergarten through fifth grade. Before Care begins on August 22 and runs through the last full day of school. A parent’s manual will be mailed in early August with program specifics. You have the choice of registering as few as 2-days and up to 5-days per week. You must choose specific days before the start of school. You can register on-line or at the Jewett Park Community Center office. In addition to the earlier start time, we will also be offering a punch pass available for purchase at the Jewett Park community center office after August 1. This 10-day pass will allow you flexibility to attend the pro-gram any additional emergency days throughout the school year as needed. You do not need to attend the be-fore school care program regularly to purchase the pass. This pass must be purchased in advance at Jewett.
