1. Sahara

DefinitionSahara-

The Sahara  is the largest subtropical hot desert and third largest desert in the world. It covers a large portion of the northern area of the continent.

2. Sahel

DefinitionSahel-

The Sahel  is a semiarid region located in Northern Africa that stretches between the Atlantic Ocean and the Red Sea.

3. Savanna

DefinitionSavanna-A grassy plain in

tropical and subtropical regions, with few tree’s. The savanna is scattered throughout Africa.

4. Tropical Rainforest

DefinitionTropical Rainforest- A tropical rainforest

is an ecosystem type that experiences high average temperatures and a significant amount of rainfall.

5.Congo River

DefinitionCongo River- The Congo River (aka

the Zaire River in the past) is a river in Africa. It’s the world's deepest river. It is the second largest river in the world by volume of water discharged.

6.Niger River

DefinitionNiger River- The Niger River is

the major river of western Africa, extending about 4,180 km (2,600 mi). It is supplied by the Guinea Highlands in southeastern Guinea.

7.Nile River

DefinitionNile River- The Nile is

a major north-flowing river in northeastern Africa, generally regarded as the longest river in the world. It is 6,853 km long.

8.Lake Tanganyika

DefinitionLake Tanganyika- Lake

Tanganyika is an African Great Lake. It is estimated to be the second largest freshwater lake in the world by volume. It is also the world's longest freshwater lake.

9.Lake Victoria

DefinitionLake Victoria- The

largest lake in Africa, and the second-largest freshwater lake in the world. It is on the Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya border. Lake Victoria is a headwater reservoir for the Nile River.

10. Atlas Mountains

DefinitionAtlas Mountains- The

Atlas Mountains stretch across the northwestern corner of Africa extending about 2,500 km through Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia. The highest peak is Toubkal, in southwestern Morocco.

11. Kalahari Desert

DefinitionKalahari Desert-The Kalahari Desert is a

large semi-arid sandy savannah in southern Africa extending 900,000 square kilometers, covering much of Botswana and parts of Namibia and South Africa.

Republic of Kenya, is a country in the African Great Lakes region of East Africa. Its capital and largest city is Nairobi.

DefinitionNigeria- Nigeria is a federal

constitutional republic comprising 36 states and its Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. It is located in western Africa. It is bordered by Niger, Chad, Cameroon, Benin.

16. South Africa

DefinitionSouth Africa- South Africa, is a

country located at the southern tip of Africa. It has 2,798 kilometers of coastline that stretches along the South Atlantic and Indian oceans.

17.Sudan

DefinitionSudan- Sudan is

an Arab republic in the Nile Valley of North Africa. The Nile River divides the country into eastern and western halves. The red sea is on the east side of Sudan.

18. South Sudan

DefinitionSouth Sudan- South

Sudan is a landlocked country in northeastern Africa that gained its independence from Sudan in 2011. Its current capital is Juba, which is also its largest city.
