Introduction

• To give fresh Afghan Hands learners an overview of the essential grammatical structures in Dari.

• It is not a full course on grammar or syntax.

• It is a good road map if you wish to search more, but all these topics are included in the Afghan Hands.

Tips for your success

1. Try to take notes as much as you can.

2. Write the transliteration of the examples in your hand out.

3. Try to retain important information in gray boxes, namely ‘Exceptions in Dari’.

4. Try to learn DARI grammar within the Dari language domain. Some rules may not make sense in English but those are the accepted rules in Dari.
