National Dialogue Roles

Subcommittee ChargeTo draft recommendations for review by the NAEYC Governing Board accompanied by rationale and justification gleaned from the culminating results of nationally and regionally convened dialogues. By design, recommendations are to be viewed through the jointly approved Guiding Principles, Evaluative Lens and Decision-Making Criteria and HPIO (high performing, inclusive organizations) documents. Recommendations may include suggestions for further research as long as such recommendations are specific in their intent.

– “What does it mean to be an NAEYC Affiliate?”• Discussed the scope of our work and charge• Discussed the mission statement of NAEYC and how it might impact the

recommendations• Agreed on Google docs questions

July 31 meeting - Lori•Presentation from Barbara Willer on the TCC marketing research

•“Program Alignment Findings Summary”•Struck by the alignment of research with the themes and unifiers from the National Dialogue•Discussed core services, mission of the organization, and quality and capacity of the Affiliates•Discussed the process for recommendations

•Discussion about the different ways the Affiliates operate in states•Focus on mission statements and how they drive purpose and structure•Environmental scan of state Affiliate mission statements•Discussed and developed a template for writing recommendations•New Google docs responses
