MISSION STATEMENT
AFCEA Educational Foundation is a nonprofit 501c(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational incentives, opportunities and assistance for people in the Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) disciplines focused on information technology, cybersecurity, telecommunications and electronics supporting the defense, homeland security and intelligence communities.

Renamed Gravely Grants in honor of Foundation’s first Executive Director, VADM Samuel L. Gravely
$1,000 Gravely Grants will be funded to estimated 50 participating Chapters (Foundation matches $500 with Chapter)
Teaching Tool Grants focused on secondary/intermediate (grades 6-8) through high school level.

• STEM Teaching Scholarship Chapter Matching Program• Foundation will Match 1 Teacher Scholarship at the Chapter
level.
• Teaching Tool Grants for STEM Teachers• In 2015, the grant program will be a stand alone program that
any middle or high school teacher across the US can apply to request funding to implement STEM innovative programs in the classroom. Application will open in Spring 2015.
• Foundation and Chapter Partnerships• Supporting Chapter school STEM initiatives.

• Leadership Forum at the Chapter Level• Chapters can facilitate Leadership Forum Courses locally.• December 2014 Leadership Forum held at TechNet Asia-Pacific
sponsored by AFCEA Hawaii.

practices in relations to scholarship and k-12 program management.
• Cycle for STEM• 3-day ride, July 16-18, 2015 (tentatively)
