1. Chairman’s Message

We hope that the 2011/12 football season has and continues to be a great year for all our boys. This year the Club has achieved a sponsorship deal with Volkswagen Ridgeway for 3 years. This fantastic deal, negotiated by Kathrine Turner and Jane Hyde will help with the purchase of kit, payment of pitch, league and referee fees, insurances, training and equipment. An immediate benefit of these funds has been seen by our ability to provide very well received additional goalkeeper training. Above and beyond all that we wish to provide even better facilities for our players so will still need to fit in some fundraising through the year to top this up and hope that families will be able to help by supporting forthcoming events.

We have also signed a 10 year lease for Stockcross Recreation Ground which will now be the “Home Ground” for many of our younger squads. We hope to develop the area even further and we are enjoying outstanding support from the Parish Council. Details of our hopes and plans for this are included in the newsletter.

Plans for season 2012/13 are underway and your manager will soon be distributing forms for next season. Please help us make this process run as smoothly as possible and enable our managers to have a break by returning these forms as quickly as you can!

Finally our AGM will be held this year at Deanwood Park Golf Club on Tuesday 8th May at 19:00. As per our club constitution committee members will be voted in for the following season so if you wish to be considered for any of the positions please let me know (Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Treasurer, Club Secretary, Child Welfare Officer)

Everyone is welcome to attend the AGM however only managers and committee members may vote; to ensure we have space please let me know if you wish to attend

Thanks

Paul Rodgers

2. Club Roles

We have been extremely fortunate for a number of years to have had an excellent treasurer in Adrian Paul, who also took on the role of Registration Secretary last season. At the end of this season Adrian has decided to step down from these roles.

On behalf of the committee and club I would like to thank Adrian for the outstanding, proactive and efficient job he has done for us during this time. He will be a hard act to follow but we obviously must fill these important positions.

3. Stockcross Development News

As you are all no doubt aware we are currently enjoying our first season of fixtures on the newly developed pitches at Stockcross. The facility is excellent and we currently have 3 small sided pitches suitable for 7-a-side games.

We would like to make use of the remaining area and provide pitches for use by all of our age groups. This will require further investment which we are trying to source via grants and funding. We also hope to use funds raised from social events such as our penalty shootout which is why your support is always so greatly appreciated at these events.

An even more exciting project we are in the very early stages of is the provision of a pavilion / clubhouse at Stockcross. Again this is something we will have to do in conjunction with the parish council but as always their support for this project is outstanding. This will be fantastic for the club if it reaches fruition but we are looking at a significant development which will take a significant amount of time and fundraising, typically via grants and donations.

News on this exciting development will be distributed as soon as it is available.
