September 14, 2017 Greetings Senior Families, Seniors are eligible to “OPT OUT” of our Academic Enrichment Period (AEP) as a senior privilege starting on September 18 th . This eligibility is based upon permission from parents/guardians. Please remind seniors that this is a privilege and JHS can revoke this opportunity from students not following our guidelines. Students will receive an AEP OPT OUT PASS after turning in a signed permission slip from home. This is NOT the Senior Privilege Card from Candid Color. Families should review the student responsibilities below: AEP Pass Student Responsibilities • Seniors are responsible for having their AEP pass and presenting this to staff as the arrive to JHS. The passes will be distributed next week. We will accept the permission slips the first week. Passes will be distributed on or before September 25 th . • Seniors with a pass are expected to arrive by 7:50 AM through the main entrance. They will be seated in class and prepared to start class BEFORE the tardy bell rings. • Students are responsible for following the Williamsburg-James City County Student Code of Conduct. Failure to follow the code of conduct may result in a suspended or revoked AEP pass. • Seniors falling behind in Academics may be required to attend AEP and or after school with designated teachers. If a student begins to fail a class, their AEP pass may be revoked for an extended amount of time. • If a senior does report to school at 7:20 on AEP days, he or she must report to their assigned AEP block where they can use their time wisely or meet with a teacher of choice IF that teacher provides a pass. • Seniors are must follow our bell schedules and report accordingly on days/weeks that do not follow our AEP schedule. Please sign and return the permission slip below. Seniors should give this to first block teachers. If they do not have a first block, please return this to the main office at Jamestown High School.
