Early help and preventative services

• New Directorate - Angela Slaven interim Director• Will include Troubled Families workers and

EWOs• Will review and revise the CAF process

– to become an Early Help assessment• Key contact for all schools• Case work lead will be from Service, not schools

– No school based lead professionals• Clearer expectations of what schools will do and

what Service will do• Will design out duplications

SEN CoP, Register and EHC plans

SEN statutory framework briefings

For Headteachers, SENCos and teachers responsible for SEN Units

KCC will be providing participants with a 2-hour briefing on forthcoming changes to SEN Statutory framework:

 

•An overview of the Children & Families Act 2014

•The latest information about the proposed SEN Code of Practice & new regulations 

•Links to the Kent SEND Strategy and Pathfinder testing

•How the changes will be implemented from September 2014

There will also be details of forthcoming training courses to support schools to implement the changes and an update on people to contact for further advice.
