A new seals & spares producer We’re small and flexible, we’re independent, we know what makes a good seal. So we found ourselves designers to design perfect moulds. We developed our own Vitonrecipe. We made moulds for the different types and makes and we found the perfect place to produce: North-West Europe.

In-situ Bonding

Our AEGIR service engineers are trained to vulcanize seal rings for any make and type of stern tube seal. Regardless of material or location, we offer seal ring replacement under one-year warranty. Our engineers are capable of executing the repair as well as giving you in-depth technical advice.

Afloat Bonding

When an unexpected seal failure occurs, docking your vessel may be a very unattractive proposition. Ballasting the vessel over the bow can bring the propellor/seal housing out of the water and thus make repair afloat possible. AEGIR can advise you about the required staging and facilities. We are there to assist you at our standard rates!

This led to class approved underwater seal repair.In case there is no dry dock available or when you want to avoid discharging your cargo, you can opt for underwater repair of stern seals. AEGIR continues to invest in the perfection of its tools. We have the smallest possible bonding jigs for any type and size seal ring. We operate with electronically-controlled heating devices and we use precision cutting tools. Through the experience of our engineers, we continue to look for further improvements. By hiring AEGIR, you will be certain to have all the expertise you need for your stern seal repair.

Overhaul

Although many shipyards claim to have the experience to overhaul stern seals in the workshop, a supervising AEGIR engineer can be of great help. He is trained in the latest developments. He knows all existing seal types inside out and has direct access to AEGIR’s technical department. All aft seal lip systems are tested in the workshop before being returned on board.Should you need additional spares or consumables, the engineer on site is your direct link to our warehouse. If our engineer is involved, you can consider the job correctly done!

Water lubricated EVK stern seal & EVR stern tube bearingThe easiest seal system on the market

AEGIR-Marine offers a durable and reliable seal system to the market. Besides that it’s proven pollution-free. The EVK stern seal and EVR stern tube bearings have many benefits for vessels with water-lubricated shafts. This EVK type seal is the easiest seal on the market for installation and operation. The seal does not wear the propeller shaft sleeve. Maintenance, including changing the seal, can be completed while the vessel is in the water. Seals come standard in a partial split version, but are available as a full spilt on request.

One straightforward sealThe design of the EVK type seal is very straightforward. It consists in a rubber lip seal rotating with the shaft. The lip seals against a stationary mating ring made of stainless steel. The seal casing is made of cast bronze. An inflatable seal for emergency and maintenance purposes is installed in the housing. Seal assemblies are supplied with one spare seal, which is installed around the shaft, ready for installation. This can often be done without the need for a service engineer.

Competively priced spare partsTogether with the EVR rubber stern tube bearings, a complete and reliable water-lubricated system can be installed. EVR bearings are available in straight

and flanged types. Spare parts are very price competitive compared to other water-lubricated seals. All EVK spares are available on short notice.

RetrofitFor retrofit purposes, the EVK can be supplied with adaptor flanges or in non-standard versions. Class approval for all major classification societies is available. EVK and EVR are manufactured by our partner, KEMEL.
