What is a structural warranty?Latent defects insurance for new or converted properties.
A structural warranty is an insurance policy designed to protect against damage caused by defects in the design, workmanship, materials or components in new buildings or converted properties.
Cover normally lasts for a period of 10 years after completion.
Why is a structural warranty needed?It's required by most lenders and gives peace of mind.
If you're building a home to sell or live in yourself, structural warranty cover will usually be required to secure finance or mortgage funding.
It also provides peace of mind that the property has been built to specified standards. Even if something does go wrong, you know we've got it covered.
And if you decide to sell the property before the structural warranty expires, the policy can be transferred to the new owner for the remainder of the term.

AssetProtect New Build 10 Commercial Warranty
If you're a developer and/or builder, you'll need to register with us. Registration is free and a simple, one-off process (with annual membership renewal). Self-builders do not need to register.

How to registerSimply complete and return our Membership Registration Form, together with all relevant requested documentation.
We will then carry out a commercial review of your registration.

Members need to show both technical and site management capabilities. We also look for good communication and cooperation, clear procedures for managing health and safety and correct insurance protections.
