Stay informed! Be as knowledgeable as you can be. Know your numbers (statistical evidence). Tell your story (anecdotal evidence). Be aware of the concerns your contact(s) are

considering. Don’t forget to connect everything to “the big

picture.”

Build Relationships! Get to know your contacts & their staff. Be tactful. Be relevant. Be brief. Be helpful.

Get your campus community involved! Share your efforts with your colleagues. Ask your colleagues to help. Seek out stories. Always be watching and listening for

connections. Don’t forget Step #1 – Know your stuff!
