Mission

•Make recommendations to the Commission regarding policies and practices that will further enhance the ability of minorities and women to participate in telecom and related industries.

•Develop strategies to:

•Enhance participation by minorities and women in telecom and related industry transactions, including timely knowledge of potential transactions and access to the necessary capital

•Increase educational training for minorities and women that facilitates opportunities in upper level management and ownership.

•Enhance participation and ownership by minorities and women in industries based on new technologies as they develop.

•Assess current practices regarding the access to capital.

•Identify the obstacles to capitalaccess faced by minorities andwomen in the telecom industries.

•Develop recommendations andidentify “best practices” to addressthese obstacles.

•Focus both on industry-specific measures, as well as issues that extend across the telecom sectors.

Recommendations may include regulatory, privatesector, and/or legislative initiatives.
