ASSIGNMENT BRIEF
OVERVIEW Introduction to logo design The dictionary meaning of a logo is a symbol, sign, or emblem. Human beings have used such symbols throughout time to convey a succinct message. In present times, logos tend to be graphical in nature, designed for easy recognition of an organization. It is a tool to build an identity for the organization, as part of its trademark or brand, and to generate favorable thoughts and feelings about the organization. In order to create a successful design that meets your client’s needs, you must first take the time to get to know your client and what their company’s needs are. Complete this worksheet for your client. Although you are not the client, imagine that you are and complete the form. Research / collect 30 different brand logo by using Internet and magazine. Students need to create / design a logo for a fictitious company.

DIRECTION & PROCESS OVERVIEW
• Research / collect 30 different brand logo by using Internet and magazine.
• Design a LOGO for 2020 Japan Olympic Game. Concept have to base on the Pictogram students that complete on first assignment.
• Students are required to create 10 thumbnail drawings on a layout pad.
• Create a rough draft of the best thumbnail which is approve by your lecturer
• Scan your rough draft into the computer and place it in Adobe Illustrator, trace the rough draft in Illustrator creating vector art for the logo.
• Students need to print out the black & white and color logo which the idea concept content on a full sheet of paper (A3 size). Mount the assignment on mounting board with 2” label.
• All assignments must be typed, double spaced, and turned in on time on the due date. NO LATE ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Lecturer does not accept late work for ANY reason. No exceptions.
• This assignment must be submitted in Softcopy (adobe Illustrator & JPEG) and hardcopy (printout).

Your assignment must be submitted before 27th Febuary 2015 . Late Submission will NOT be accepted. This assignment accounts for 30% of the total marks for the course and shall be assessed based on the Rubrics attached .

Logo design is very similar to the original & colored very careless and messy. Not much thought went into the design od the logo.
Logo is somewhat clean and neat & design uses element of the design, but could be better. The design is recognizable.
