ERNET India, an Autonomous Scientific Society under Department of Electronics &

Information Technology, Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, has been setup with the main objectives of developing, setting up and operating a nationwide state-of-artComputer Communication infrastructure, to undertake and promote education, research &development, training and standardization in the area of computer networking and informationtechnology and to develop options for consideration of the Government for development ofinformation infrastructure and computer networking in the country.

2. ERNET India is looking for suitable personnel for technical and non- technical posts.The Technical personnel should have expertise and working knowledge/research experience inanyone or more of the following domains:

Computer Network Design and Architectures, Network Measurement & QoS, ProtocolEngineering and Network Security

Optical Networking, High-Speed Networks and Next Generation Networks. Planning of Network Resources, System Administration, Customer Support,

Technology Evaluation and Preparation of Technical proposals.

Development Experience in :(i) IPv4/IPv6(ii) Wireless access technologies (WiFi, WiMAX, GPRS/EVDO)(iii) Wireless Sensor Networks, Tiny OS

3. The mode of Recruitment, No. of posts, the eligibility criteria and place of posting foreach post to be filled is as under:

(A) Posts to be filled on Regular basis.

(a) Technical

(1) Director

(a) No. of Post - 01 (UR)

(b) Pay scale - PB-4 (Rs. 37,400-67,000/-) with Grade Pay -Rs. 8,900/- as per sixth pay commission.

(c) Mode of recruitment - By Direct recruitment/Transfer (absorption)failing which by deputation

(d) Place of Posting - Delhi(e) Eligibility Criteria -

(i) Educational Qualification & Age for direct recruitment:

B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc. or equivalent in the related field (*) with minimum 60% marks from arecognized University/Institution.

Experience 15 years in the relevant field (*).

M.E./M.Tech in related field (*) with minimum 60% marks from a recognizedUniversity/Institution.


ORPh.D. in the related field (*) from a recognized University/Institution.

Experience 10 years industrial/research experience in the relevant field(*).

(*) Computer Communication & networking, Data Communication, Internet & WebTechnology, VSAT Communication.

Age: 45 years (Relaxation as per GoI Rules)

(ii) For Transfer (absorption) / Deputation:

In case of transfer (absorption)/deputation, officers of the Central/State Governments/PSUs/Autonomous bodies:-

(i) Holding analogous post on regular basisOR

Having 5 years regular service in the scale of pay of Rs. 14,300-18,300/- (pre-revised) or PB-4,Rs. 37,400-67,000/- with grade pay of Rs. 8,700/- (revised)

AND(ii) Possessing the qualifications prescribed for direct recruitment.

(2) Manager

(a) No. of Post - 03 (UR)(b) Pay scale - Rs. 15,600 -39,100/-with grade pay of Rs. 7,600/-

as per sixth pay commission(c) Mode of recruitment - By Direct recruitment/Transfer (absorption) failing

Having 5 years regular service in the scale of pay of Rs. 10,000-15,200/- (pre-revised) or PB-3,Rs. 15,600-39,100/- with grade pay of Rs. 6,600/- (revised).

AND(ii) Possessing the qualifications prescribed for direct recruitment

(3) Jr. Scientific Officer

(4) Technical Assistant

Working in the pay scale of Rs. 4,000-6,000/- (pre-revised) or PB-1, Rs. 5,200-20,200/- with

grade pay of Rs. 2,400/- (revised) and having 4 years experience in the grade and relevant field(*).


(b) Non-technical Posts

(1) Chief Finance Officer

Person working on analogous post in Government/PSUs/Autonomous bodies on regular basis.

ORPerson working in the pay scale of Rs. 12,000-16,500/- (pre-revised) or PB-3, Rs. 15,600-39,100/- with grade pay of Rs. 7,600/- (revised) and having 5 years regular service in the gradeand equivalent field and educational qualification.

Desirable: Experience in a responsible position in the area of Accounts, Finance, Budgeting,etc. in organization of repute.

(2) Private Secretary

(3) Stenographer

For Direct Recruitment

Essential:

Graduate from a recognized University with shorthand speed 100/80 w.p.m. in English/Hindi.

Desirable:

Working experience of 2 years in similar S&T organization.

Working knowledge of computer.

Age: 27 years for direct recruitment (Relaxation as per GoI Rules)

For Transfer (absorption) / Deputation:

Person working in analogous post in Govt./PSUs/Autonomous Bodies on regular basis.

ORPerson working in the pay scale of Rs.3,050-4,590/- (pre-revised) or PB-1, Rs. 5,200-20,200/-with grade pay of Rs. 1,900/- (revised) and having 5 years regular service in the grade with ashorthand speed of 80 w.p.m. in English/Hindi.

Desirable:

Working knowledge of computers.

Essential Qualifications:

Graduate

4. Number of vacancies indicated is provisional and may vary at the time of actual filling

up of posts. ERNET India reserve the right not to fill up all the posts, if it so desires.

5. Selection: - Initial screening will be based on academic record and experiencerequirement wherever specified. Only short listed candidates shall be called for test andinterview. No interim correspondence will be entertained.

6. The person selected will be eligible for medical facilities, lunch coupons, CPF etc. asper the Bye-Laws of ERNET India.

7. Interested candidates possessing the above qualifications and experience may apply inthe prescribed format (Annexure-I). The applications must be supported by copies of

certificates relating to educational and technical qualifications, date of birth, experience,category (SC/ST/OBC) & one recent passport size photograph, indicating the name of the postapplied for on the envelope. advertisement. Incomplete applications will be rejected and no correspondence in this regardwill be made.

8.(i) Candidates applying for the post on direct recruitment basis and deputation mustenclose Demand Draft of Rs.500/- in favor of ERNET India, New Delhi along with theapplication. However, SC/ST candidates are exempted from fee.

(ii) For appointment on deputation basis (foreign service), the deputation would begoverned by the terms and conditions contained in Department of Personnel and Training O.M.

No. 2/29/91-Estt. (Pay II) dated 05.01.1994, as amended from time to time.

9. The candidate must ensure that he/she fulfils the educational qualification & experiencecriteria as on the date of publication of the advertisement.

10. The candidates who are already working in Central Govt./State Govt./PSUs/Autonomous Bodies must submit their application through proper channel alongwith

attested copies of ACR Dossiers for the last five years and Vigilance/Disciplinary clearancecertificate.

11. Applications received after the due date, without ACR Dossier and Vigilance clearancewill not be entertained. The Officer once selected shall not be allowed to withdraw his/hercandidature at a later date.

Note :- (i) Govt. Orders regarding age relaxations to various categories of candidates will beapplicable.(ii) Only short-listed candidates will be called for test/interview. Mere fulfilling ofrequirements as laid down in the advertisement does not qualify a candidate to be called fortest/interview.(iii) For meeting the eligibility criteria the relevant experience will be counted from the date of
