Adventures in Lifelong Learning A Community Partnership with University of Wisconsin-Parkside 900 Wood Road, PO Box 2000, Kenosha WI 53141-2000 The ALL Points Bulletin Early Spring 2016 February 2016, Volume 18, Issue 1 Published February, May, August, November Barbara Leable, Editor, [email protected] Norma Rukavina, Co-Editor, [email protected] Vanessa Greco, University Service Associate 262.595.2793, [email protected] Or email: [email protected] Office Hours: Mon-Thurs, 8:30-1:30 THE PRESIDENT’S CORNER Members will elect the ALL Board of Directors at the Annual Meeting in June. President Patti Gross, President-Elect Wren Ide, and Immediate Past-President Ted Anderson will continue in their positions for a second term. We will elect a Treasurer to replace two-term incumbent Wendi Schneider, and three Members-at-Large to replace Pam Drummond, Tricia Frost, and Jeff Timm, who will have completed their two-year commitments. Continuing for a second year as Members-at- Large are Terrence Constant, Ruth Fear, and Larry Gregg. Now is the time to nominate yourself or another capable and willing member for one of the open positions as Treasurer or Member-at-Large. Please email your nominations to Ted Anderson at [email protected]. Patti Gross, ALL President IMPORTANT CREDIT CARD PAYMENT CHANGE! To comply with University financial and audit procedures, we’ve made a change to how we handle credit card payments for ALL events. When an ALL class, day trip, or other event (such as the annual meeting in June or the September picnic) is announced, Vanessa will send an email with key information for that event, including a link you can click on to register online via credit card. Note: this feature is open to members only; guests need to send in their paper registration forms and checks to Vanessa at the ALL office. Members still have the regular options of paying by cash (there’s a drop box outside of Vanessa’s office if she’s not at her desk when you stop by) or by writing and mailing your check(s). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On January 2, 2016, the New York Times published an article about lifelong learning, noting that membership at the Johns Hopkins program costs $500/year. We really have a bargain with annual dues of $45/year!
