    SYNO$SIS

    The characters, while battling a Jem’Hadar Battle Cruiser which jumped their task orce in the !’laron

    system, make their escape "ia a black hole, but the escape lings them into the past #how ar is unimportant$

     be creati"e%& 'hen they complete what repairs they can, they return to the uture& They will go to (eepSpace )ine*and ind it nothing but debris loating in space& +nstead, a (ominion station has been erected

    nearby, and the wormhole is nowhere to be ound& As they watch, a group o rag*tag ships drops out o orbit

    and attacks the station Jem’Hadar ighters come pouring orth and the battle is joined& -ne o the attacking

    ships suddenly drops it’s holographic disguise$ it is the (eiant The characters can join the battle and e"en

    though their ship is damaged, they can help the attackers win through and destroy the (ominion outpost,

    although the attackers suer hea"y losses& The characters are contacted by the Commander o the (eiant,

    'or& He in"ites them to accompany the (eiant to it’s secret base in the Badlands&-nce they arri"e there, technicians begin repairs on the .C’s ship& They /uickly disco"er that they emergedrom their temporal tra"el into an alternate timeline, one where the 0ederation lost the (ominion 'ar& The

    (eiant is part o a resistance organi1ation called the )ew 2a/uis, led by 2ajor 3ira )erys& +t is also the

    year 4567& Historical research can unco"er the major change to history$ Benjamin Sisko was ne"er assigned

    to command (eep Space )ine& This position instead went to Commander 8okas, an Andorian oicer who

    was ar less competent than Sisko, and who did not pro"ide the kind o leadership Sisko has& +n late 4969*

    early 4965, (ominion orces took o"er (eep Space )ine& The 0ederation mounted a hastily organi1ed

    -peration :eturn to take back the station$ 8okas’ tactical abilities were not up to the task, and the station

    was destroyed and the 0ederation leet decimated& The (ominion took ad"antage o this demorali1ingdeeat and by late 496; had con/uered the 0ederation&

    + the characters re"iew their ship’s records on Sisko, they will /uickly disco"er that the seminal e"ent

    which led to his e"entually taking command o the then*backwater (eep Space )ine was the death o his

    The inter"ention in the Battle o 'ol 9;= is the idea o ul (ukat& He knows about the death o Sisko’s

    wie and he managed to obtain inormation on 0ederation time tra"el rom the old -bsidian -rder iles& He

     persuaded his (ominion allies to allow him to send a ship back to the past and pre"ent the Saratoga’s

    destruction, since he belie"ed that Sisko was the linchpin holding the 0ederation together& (ukat will not

    appear in the ad"enture$ he has instead sent 8egate Talor, an associate, and some crew rom the Se"enth

    -rder& They ha"e a alor*class warship itted with a (ominion cloaking de"ice&

    The slingshot maneu"er should be conducted according to the rules on page ; o All Our Yesterdays&

    Beore it is attempted, it is possible that the structural integrity ield can be strengthened to shield the

    (eiant rom some o the damage the trip will cause$ this can be a cooperati"e task$ ha"e any ?ngineers so

    in"ol"ed make a roll on their Material Engineering  #Structural/Spaceframe) skills at a diiculty o >&

    ?ach point by which the roll is made reduces the damage to the (eiant’s structure by >&+t is possible that the characters may wish to make the calculations themsel"es as to when they arri"e& This

    re/uires a roll on .hysical Sciences #Temporal .hysics% at a (iicult le"el& 0ailure means they arri"e either

    early #*9 on a d7% or late #5*7% by 45@d7 hours& ?arly shouldn’t be much o a problem, although it may

    re/uire hiding out or awhile& 8ate would re/uire another time tra"el attempt to get it right #or perhaps a

    more creati"e solution to the problem o Jennier Sisko, but that’s another /uestion%& Critical ailure means

    the ship is 'AD o, perhaps by centuries& Critical success means they arri"e at e@actly the moment they

    wish to, and with no damage to the (eiant& -therwise, they must wait d7 hours or the battle to begin& +you want to li"en up the battle, ha"e a Jem’Hadar attack ship patrolling the 'ol 9;= system when theyshow up, so they will ha"e to ight a running battle as they attempt to make the maneu"er& #(on’t damage

    anything that will make their mission impossible to accomplish, howe"er%

    'hen the ship comes out o warp, it will be a ew moments beore it can orient itsel& -nce it does, they

    will be able to conirm where they areE the 'ol 9;= system, Stardate 55>>&5

    Sensors indicate a large group o ships heading in to the system$ 5> starships, mostly 0ederation along with

    a ew 3lingon "essels& (eiant will want to cloak beore they get much closer&

    At this point, as the ships gather, (eiant can begin scanning to try to ind the intruder& As they do so, they

    can monitor the communications o the armada o ships preparing to meet the Borg&At precisely the right time, the Borg Cube appears, on schedule, and the battle commences& A message is

     broadcast on all channels$ F+ A2 8-C

    'hen the characters get back to the Bajor system, they will ind (eep Space )ine intact& + they check,

    they will ind that it is indeed commanded by Captain Benjamin Sisko& + they beam o"er, they will ind

    Captain Sisko and his oicers enjoying a meal in !uark’s& They now ha"e an interesting problem$ an e@tra(eiant& -nce they make a report, (T+ will clear them o any wrongdoing #unless they really screwed up,

    or had to destroy the Saratoga themsel"es%$ the e@tra (eiant will be turned o"er to Starleet, where it will be taken to ?arth and renamed the Sao .aolo #which, o course later becomes the (eiant again%&&&&
