Welcome to Advent! To enter into this special season, dozens of St. Francis Xavier parishioners, staff members, and students have been preparing the way for us through prayer, reflection, writing, and artwork. For each day in Advent, this booklet presents the readings of the day, a reflection written by a member of our parish family, and a piece of art produced by our students at St. Francis Xavier school.
We hope that these messages of hope, faith, joy, and peace will be a light in the darkness. Let us follow the star that announces the coming of our savior!

Para adentrarnos en esta temporada tan especial, decenas de parroquianos, personal y estudiantes de San Francisco Javier, han preparado el camino para nosotros a través de la oración, reflexión, escritura y arte. Para cada día de Adviento, el cuadernillo contiene las lecturas del día, una reflexión escrita por un miembro de nuestra familia parroquial, y una pieza de arte hecha por uno de nuestros estudiantes.

“lord, you are our father; we the clay and you the potter: we are all the work of your hands.”Welcome to Advent! This season we actually celebrate three Advents:
1. Jesus coming into the world over 2000 years ago which we celebrate December 25,
2. His coming at the end of time, and3. His reception into our spirits in a deeper way in Communion at
Christmas mass.
Advent is the time to make our rough ways straight for that special coming. We prepare well for Easter in Lent; we must do so also in prayer and penance during this shorter season.
God bless you as you warmly open the inns of your hearts unto the Babe of Bethlehem.

“Señor, tú eres nuestro Padre, somos la greda que tus manos plasmaron, todos nosotros fuimos hechos por tus manos.”¡Bienvenido al Adviento! Durante esta temporada celebramos tres Advientos:
1. La venida de Jesús al mundo hace más de 2000 años, la cual celebramos el 25 de diciembre,
2. Su venida al final de los tiempos, y3. Su recepción espiritual de una manera más profunda en la
comunión de la Misa de Navidad.
Adviento es el tiempo de enderezar nuestro camino para esa venida especial. Nos preparamos muy bien para la Pascua durante Cuaresma, así pues, hagamos lo mismo con oración y penitencia durante esta corta época.
Dios lo bendiga, conforme afectuosamente, abre su corazón para brindar posada al pequeño de Belén.

God is a mystery that can never be fully understood. Even so, we must try to learn and explore the mystery, because “how can they believe in Him in whom they have not heard?”
Open yourselves up to the Lord and it will be easier to love Him.
Listen to the people in your life who are trying to tell you about the Lord.
Sometimes, I find myself stressed and overwhelmed, but God has always been there for me. God is always there for you, too, and He will help you if you just ask.
God is merciful to all. “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.”
All you need to do is love.

Dios es un misterio que, en su totalidad, no se puede comprender. Aun así, debemos aprender y explorar ese misterio porque, “¿cómo van a creer en él, si no han oído hablar de él?”
Abramos nuestro ser al Señor y será más sencillo amarle. Escuche aquellos a su alrededor que intentan hablarle del Señor.
A veces me encuentro estresada y abrumada. Dios siempre está ahí para ayudarte, solo debes pedirlo. Dios es misericordioso con todos.

En esta acción Jesús nos da a conocer una parte de la esencia del Padre que es amar la sencillez de sus hijos. Y el gran reflejo del Padre es su mismo
Hijo Jesús.
El orgullo y la soberbia que la sociedad trata de alimentarnos nos impide de ver la realidad de la verdad a la cual fuimos
llamados a ser y reflejar la imagen de un Dios grande pero que es sencillo de corazón con quienes lo buscan. ¿Con qué actitud
de corazón buscas a Dios y tratas al prójimo?

We see how the Holy Spirit impels, moves, and makes the heart of Jesus overflow with joy, giving thanks to his Father in heaven for revealing these things to the childlike. In this action Jesus makes known to us a part of the essence of the Father, which is to love the simplicity of his children. And the greatest reflection of the
Father is his own Son, Jesus.
The pride and arrogance that society tries to feed us prevents us from seeing the reality of the truth: we are called to be and reflect the image of a great God but who is simple of heart with those who seek him. With what attitude of heart do you seek God
and treat others?

El Adviento ha llegado. El 2020 ha sido un camino extenso y desafiante, pero aun así, comenzamos nuestra jornada hacia la encarnación de nuestro Señor. Es un tiempo de espera, paciencia, y
añoranza – nuestro anhelo por Dios, pero también el anhelo de Dios por nosotros.
Las lecturas de hoy, nos recuerdan que Dios nos ama. Isaías nos señala las cosas buenas que el Señor tiene para nosotros. Nunca enfrentaremos necesidad. Y Mateo continua esta buena noticia recordándonos como el Señor añora que estemos saciados – de no enfrentar hambre, y que nunca nos falte. Dios verá que, en vez de hambre, podamos reconocer la sanación y la paz porque él nos ama.

Advent is here. 2020 has been a long, challenging road, but once again we begin our journey to the Incarnation of our Lord. It
is a time of waiting, a time of patience, a time of longing – our longing for God, but also God’s longing for us.
Today’s readings remind us we are loved by God. Isaiah tells of all the good things our Lord has planned for us. We will never be in need. And Matthew continues this good news by telling us how
our Lord longs for us to always be filled – to never know hunger, to never be without. God will see that, instead of hunger, we will
know healing and peace because He loves us so.

In 1540, King John III of Portugal asked Ignatius to send a Jesuit to India.
With the words, Ite Inflamate Omnia (“Go set the world on fire”), Ignatius
missioned Francis Xavier around Africa, to Goa, southern India, Indonesia,
and Japan. Xavier died in 1552 on an island off the coast of China waiting for
permission to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to the Chinese empire.
Through the intercession of St. Francis Xavier, may we fulfill our mission to
radiate Christ ’s love to the whole world.
Lord, fill us with zeal of Saint Francis Xavier, to be living examples of your
love and your justice, bringing the good news of salvation to all our troubled
word. Amen.

En 1540, el rey Juan III de Portugal le preguntó a Ignacio que enviara a un
jesuita a la India. Con las palabras Ite Inflamate Omnia (“Encender el mundo
en fuego”), Ignacio delegó la misión a Francisco Javier de recorrer África,

A través de Isaías, Dios hace referencia a lo maravilloso que es creer y tener fe en el Señor. Hace mención de que la alegría se esparcirá por toda la tierra. El evangelio nos dice que aquellos que pecan, “erran en el espíritu.” Sin embargo, el evangelio también nos enseña que, no debemos juzgar a los que pecan, pues nosotros también hemos pecado. Mejor, debemos perdonar, comprender y enseñarnos unos
a otros.
Debemos ser cautelosos y no caer en la trampa del juicio. Somos llamados a no juzgar, y si alguien peca, no es a nosotros que deben dar cuentas. Pues el Señor compasivo es quien otorga su misericordia hacia ellos. Así como el Papa Francisco ha
dicho, “¿quién soy yo para juzgar?”

Through the prophet Isaiah, the Lord God refers to how believing and having faith is an amazing thing. He talks about how joy will spread throughout the Earth. The Gospel says those who sin, “err in spirit.” However, the Gospel also teaches us that we should not judge those who sin, for we have surely sinned ourselves. Instead, we
should forgive, understand, and teach.
We need to be cautious of the trap of judgment. We are called not to judge, for if someone sins, it is not us they shall have to answer to. It is the merciful Lord who shall bestow his mercy upon them. For as
Pope Francis said, “Who am I to judge?”

on this day, through the daily readings, we are presented significant prompts for contemplation:
“he will be gracious to you when you cry out.”“The lord will give you the bread you need and the water
for which you thirst and will bind up your wounds.”“[Jesus’] heart was moved with pity for them because they
were troubled and abandoned.”Each of these reminds us of the majesty, magnificence and glory of the Advent Season and the great gift of salvation that our Savior brings. Does one of these quotes also speak to your heart? Let it sound and resound in your heart, so that at Christmas you can truly “Go tell it on the Mountain – that Jesus Christ is born!”

porque estaban extenuadas y desamparadas.”Cada una nos recuerda de la majestad, grandeza y esplendor de la temporada de Adviento y el gran regalo de salvación que nuestro Seños nos brinda. ¿Alguna de estas citas le hablan al corazón? Permítala sonar y resonar en su corazón para que así en Navidad, ¡verdaderamente “vayas a contarle a la montaña que Jesucristo ha nacido!”
God will not fail you. You must have faith in God and the path which he has paved for you. At some point in our lives, we find ourselves waiting for a certain “something.” Maybe your “something” is a person, an animal, an emotion, or an answer to a problem. But we often grow eager or impatient because we find ourselves waiting for that
“something” for too long.
This is when we must place our trust in God. Even when you fail him, he will never fail you. I am one of those people looking for a “something” in my life. However, when I find myself growing impatient, I remind myself that God has a plan for me in which I must trust.

Dios no le fallará. Debe tener fe en Dios y en el
camino que él le ha trazado. En algún momento
de nuestra vida, nos encontramos en espera de
ese “algo.” Tal vez sea una persona, una mascota,
una emoción, o una repuesta a su dificultad. Nos
volvemos ansiosos ya que por demasiado tiempo,
esperamos por ese “algo.”
Es aquí cuando debemos depositar nuestra
confianza en Dios. Aun cuando le falle, Dios no
le fallará. Yo soy una de esas personas en busca
de ese “algo” en mi vida. Sin embargo, cuando la
impaciencia crece, recuerdo que Dios tiene un
plan para mí, el cual debo confiar.

El Adviento nos recuera que Jesús nació en un mundo pecador, y que murió por nuestros pecados, pero también resucitó, y vendrá nuevamente. Como humanos, somos vulnerables a
enfermedades, falta de juicio, y ambientes cuestionables que nos llevan a la tentación. Sin embargo, Jesús nos llama a levantarnos y
esforzarnos por ser mejor.
Durante Adviento, encendemos cuatro velas para renovar nuestra esperanza, fe, gozo y paz. Por medio de estas virtudes, renovamos
nuestra gratitud por el nacimiento de Jesús, quien resucita y perdona nuestras faltas.
Jesús dijo, “Pues para que vean que el Hijo del hombre tiene poder en la tierra para perdonar los pecados –dijo entonces al paralítico–:
Yo te lo mando: levántate, toma tu camilla y vete a tu casa.”

Advent reminds us that Jesus was born into a sinful world and died for sin, but also rose, and will come again. As humans, we are vulnerable to illnesses, bad judgement and questionable environments that lead us into temptation. But Jesus calls us to rise up and try to do better.
During Advent, we light the four candles to renew our Hope, Faith, Joy and Peace. Through each of these virtues, we renew our gratitude
for the birth of Jesus, who raises us up and forgives our sins.
For Jesus said, “‘So that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,’ he said to the one who was
paralyzed, ‘Rise, pick up your mat, and go.’”.

God created man out of love. He asked us to trust Him and His will. Through our own desire and lack of humility we could not do what
He asked. We hid from Him and blamed others.
The Annunciation reminds us that there is another way to live: trusting the will of God. our fear and own desire tempt us to
resist God, yet Mary becomes our teacher. Mary must have been frightened of the unknown, and yet chose to do God’s will. She must have been frightened to embark on a journey to see her cousin, yet she trusted and allowed God to direct her path. Mary, Queen of the universe, trusted in God and expressed her trust and love to God by
being a servant to others.
Think about your life and your fears. Where is God asking you to trust and serve? How can you ask our Mother Mary to help you in
your life?

Dios creó al hombre por amor. Nos pide confiar en él y en su voluntad. Debido al deseo y falta de humildad, nos limita hacer lo

At the break of dawn, Mary sets forth to encounter Juan Diego, as she did with her relative, Elizabeth. In his indigenous culture, Juan Diego is known as the one who speaks like an eagle. “With eagle’s wings,” he lifts his eyes to heaven as a response to the call made
by she who bears the Savior of the world.
Throughout his ongoing engagements with the heavenly Lady, Juan Diego’s contemplative capacity is revealed. Attentively, he turns his soul to the incomparable music and the birds’ sound
coming from the hill of Tepeyac. As we journey through Advent, Juan Diego invites us to be still and wonder, and to be hopeful as
we encounter the one who is “meek and humble of heart.”

Muy de madrugada, María sale al encuentro de Juan Diego, así como lo hizo con su prima Isabel. En la cultura indígena, Juan Diego es conocido como aquel que habla como águila. Today’s psalm proclaims, “The Lord is gracious and merciful; slow to anger, and of great kindness.” “Kindness,” however, fails to capture the full meaning of the Hebrew word hesed. It also means goodness, mercy, faithfulness, and steadfast love. Hesed is the compassion of a mother for her baby, or the patient tenderness of a father forgiving an errant child.
In Jewish scripture, only God is capable of hesed; human beings can only hope to emulate it. In the Gospels, hesed becomes God’s self-giving love, first heralded by John and brought to fruition by the coming of Jesus.
Hannukah, the Jewish festival of light, begins tonight. Let us pray with our Jewish brothers and sisters that God’s hesed may continue to brighten our world.

El salmo de hoy proclama, “El Señor es bondad para con todos.” Pero el término bondad no logra capturar el pleno significado de la palabra Hebrea hesed. Que también significa bondad, misericordia,
fidelidad y amor firme. Hesed es la compasión de una madre por su bebé, o de un padre paciente hacia su hijo descarriado.
En las escrituras del pueblo judío, solo Dios es capaz de hesed. El ser humano solo desearía igualarla. En los evangelios, hesed se
convierte en el amor de Dios mismo, primero proclamado por Juan y después realizado con la venida de Jesús.
El festival judío de luz conocido como Janucá, comienza esta noche. oremos con nuestros hermanos y hermanas judías para que el
hesed de Dios continúe iluminando el mundo.

The Lord in today’s reading from Isaiah says he is the one who vowed to show Israel those things that would profit them, both in this life and in the world to come. He is the same Lord who has vowed to guide us in the way of truth, direct us through valleys of shadow, and maintain us with His upright right hand. Even as we climb the slopes of trouble that hinder our natural way to righteousness, God is there with us.
“Thus says the LoRD, your Redeemer, the Holy one of Israel: ‘I am the LoRD your God, who instructs you to benefit.’”
En la lectura de Isaías, el Señor promete enseñar a Israel aquello que les beneficiará en esta vida y la venidera. Es el mismo Dios quien nos dirige en la verdad y en los valles profundos de oscuridad. Es quien, mientras enfrentamos laderas de dificultad, nos mantiene con su mano recta.

Este Adviento, Nuestra Señora desea acercarnos a ella y mostrarnos el camino hacia su Hijo; deseando que abramos

In those difficult moments of our lives – when there’s great sorrow, fear or anxiety – our Blessed Mother intercedes for us
because she knows our needs. She wishes to give us her love and protection because she is our Merciful Mother. This Advent, our Lady wishes to draw us close to her and show us the way to her Son; desiring that we open our heart to her Son; making Jesus the center of our lives; trusting in Him and being forgiving and
supportive of each other.

Gaudete SundayThe Advent candle lit today is a different color – pink or rose. The Third Sunday of Advent is known as Gaudete Sunday. In Latin, gaudete means Rejoice! Lighting the rose candle represents the virtue of joy – the joy of Jesus’ coming at Christmas, but also the joy of the resurrection, which connects Advent with Lent and Easter, in both their joys and sorrows. Throughout our readings today, we are reminded to rejoice: “My soul rejoices in my God”.
Lastly, December 13th is also the feast of St. Lucy. Her name comes from the Latin word lux, meaning light. Symbolically, St. Lucy is the bearer of light in the darkness of winter. May the rose candle of joy light our way this Advent season.

Baalam’s glorious vision of Israel stood in stark contrast to the hopelessness of the Israelites encamped at the Jordan, defeated by their fear.
God had a plan for his people. Baalam’s vision, seen through God’s own eyes, was of a strong, vigorous nation, from which would spring an anointed one, a messiah! There was hope for their future.
Whose eyes do I look through when I view the world – or myself? How different would my vision be if I asked God to let me see through His eyes – not how I assume God sees them, but truly what He sees. How could that vision affect the choices I make about the world or my life?
Teach me your ways, o Lord.

La gloriosa visión de Baalam sobre Israel, es un choque duro de desesperanza para los Israelitas acampando el Jordán, derrotados por su temor.
Dios tenia un plan para su pueblo. La visión de Baalam vista por los propios ojos de Dios, fue de una nación fuerte y vigorosa, de la cual saldría un ungido, ¡un mesías! Había esperanza para el futuro.
¿A través de cuyos ojos miro al mundo, o a mí mismo? In today’s Gospel, Jesus asks for the elders’, priests’ and people’s opinion. In the story, when a man asks his son to work in the field, the son says
“no,” but ends up doing the job. The father asks the same to his second son, who says “yes,” but then doesn’t do the chore. Who is worse?
In my opinion, I think the son who said he would do it but then didn’t is the worse. You should never break your word. When you say you will
do something, you should always go through with it.
God, help us to be people of integrity, so that when you call, we may say “yes” with both words and deeds. Amen.

Reflexioné en el evangelio de Mateo, y en esta parábola Jesús cuestiona a los sumos sacerdotes, a los ancianos, y a la gente del pueblo. En la historia, un hombre le pregunta a su hijo que vaya a trabajar en la viña, pero se negó. Sin embargo, lo termina haciendo. El hombre se dirige al segundo hijo y le pide lo mismo. A pesar que le dijo que lo haría,

Vuélvanse a mí y serán salvados. Quizás son las palabras más reconfortantes que alguien pueda escuchar. Claramente, Isaías hace una declaración: confiar a pesar de que no siempre entienda. Crease que Dios es el Señor de todo. Lo que haga, o lo que sea que haya hecho, tenga la certeza que el Señor, creador de todo, camina a su lado y espera que regrese a él. El está constantemente en su vida.
Así como un pequeño se dirige a sus padres en busca de seguridad, esta temporada de Adviento, como hijos de Dios, tengamos la certeza de buscarle. Escuchemos la voz de Dios susurrando las siguientes palabras en nuestro oído: Vuélvanse a mí y serán salvados.

Turn to me and be safe. Perhaps the most reassuring words a person can hear. Isaiah clearly makes a statement: trust even though you don’t always understand. Believe that God is the Lord of all. Whatever you do – whatever may be done to you – be secure in the knowledge that the Lord, the Creator of all things, walks beside you and waits for you to turn to Him. He is a constant in your life.
Just as a child turns to her parents for security, this Advent season, we as children of God can trust the certainty of turning to Him. Listen for God’s voice whispering these words in your ear: Turn to me and be safe.

Hasta ahora, las lecturas se han enfocado en su futura venida. Hoy, en los evangelios de Mateo y Lucas, vemos un giro dramático a la narración de su niñez. Ahora nos topamos con tan importantes figuras como el ángel Gabriel, María, Isabel, Juan el Bautista, Zacarías, y todos aquellos que tienen un papel en el nacimiento de este salvador.

The Advent season prepares us for the two “comings” of Jesus: when “he will come again to judge the living and the dead” as well as the historic coming of the Word made flesh, over 2000 years ago. up to this point, daily readings have focused on this future coming. Today we see a dramatic shift to the infancy narratives found in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. We now meet such important figures as the angel Gabriel, Mary, Elizabeth, John the Baptizer, Zachariah, all who have their own roles to play in this Savior’s birth.
Today also marks the beginning of the annual sacred cultural devotions: Las Posadas and Simbang Gabi in the Latino and Filipino communities respectively. ¡ven, Señor Jesús!

In today’s readings Joseph says “yes” to God’s plan to bring Jesus into the world. Joseph’s “yes” is unique because it required Mary’s “yes,” and it supported her “yes.” When Joseph said “yes,” he accepted the promise that Mary gave and affirmed that he would partner with her. He took part in God’s plan but also relied on the faith of Mary.
When we are brave enough to partner with others and co-mingle our responsive yes, we truly live our call to support each other like Joseph supported of Mary and Jesus. Joseph’s “yes” reminds us to partner with one another. When he agrees to continue with their marriage, he demonstrates not only trust in God, but also in Mary.

En las lecturas de hoy, José le da el sí al plan de Dios de enviar a Jesús al mundo. El “si” de José es único ya que era necesario el “sí” de María para respaldarlo. Al dar su “sí,” José acepta la promesa vista por María y afirma que sería su compañero. Se hizo parte del plan de Dios pero también dependió de la fe de María.

What is your Treasure?When we hear about babies, words like treasure, miracle,
or blessing come to mind.
In the readings today, we hear stories of two mothers. Both women faced the challenge of being wives who were considered barren. In both of their stories, God had plans. An angel visited, sharing good news that they would bear sons. Both of their sons were a treasure
to their family and the whole of Israel.
I was not able to become a mother until almost 10 years of marriage, which drew me to the Cradle Sunday Ministry, dedicated in support
of women so that they too can meet their babies. I cherish the opportunity to actively support women finding their treasures in life.

Yo no pude concebir hasta después de casi 10 años de matrimonio, lo cual me acercó al ministerio de cuna, Cradle Sunday, el cual apoya
a madres para la venida de sus bebés. Mi hijo es un tesoro para mí, y valoro esta oportunidad para apoyar vivamente a mujeres a
encontrar su tesoro en la vida.

What must it have been like for Mary to be approached by an angel, who greeted her with the words “Hail, full of grace?” She listened, and even though she likely was scared to death, she said yes: “May it be done to me
according to your word.” Mary’s “yes” was God’s will. Later, her son Jesus taught us all to pray “Thy will be done.”
God asks us to love our neighbors. The neighbors who look and think like us, and those who don’t, especially those less fortunate. Are we saying “yes” to God’s will? During this last week of Advent, let us pray that we recognize Jesus in our encounters with others, especially those who are different.

¿Cómo habrá sido cuando el ángel se acercó a María dándole el saludo:

Designios del señorr. alabado sea el señor por escuchar nuestras plegarias.
Que la misericordia de Dios sea derramada en sus siervos. Pidamos al Señor que él nos escuchará. La voluntad del Señor no se cuestiona, todo lo que viene de él es para la sanación y salvación de sus amados hijos.
Seamos pacientes con la respuesta del Señor. Si no es de nuestro agrado, entonces esperábamos la afirmación de nuestros actos. Entender los designios de Dios es dejar que actué el Señor en nosotros.
La misericordia de Dios es para todos. ¿Por qué de sentirnos exentos de las maravillas otorgadas? El amor de Dios se siente, se refleja y se transmite. Alabado sea Dios por amarnos.

May God’s mercy be poured upon God’s people. Ask the Lord, for he will listen. God’s will is unquestionable. Everything that comes from
God is for the healing and salvation of his beloved.
Let us be patient with God’s response, for if it is not pleasing, it’s an assertion of our actions. To understand God’s plan is to let God act
upon us.
God’s mercy is for all. Why would we feel exempt from God’s wonders? God’s love is palpable, contagious, and it radiates out in
every direction.

THE MAGNIFICAT“My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.”
on August 15, the day of the Assumption, I consecrated myself to our Lady, because it is through her that I want to reach Jesus, her beloved Son, in the fullest way. The virgin Mary, the humble servant of God, wonderfully summarizes God’s plan for humanity, his Kingdom of love, justice and mercy.
The Magnificat which we hear today is Mary’s song of God’s goodness, of his justice to the oppressed and of mercy for us sinners. Hand in hand with my Mother Mary, let us also pray to be the humble servants of God, to make his Kingdom a reality in our midst.
El Magníficat“Proclama mi alma la grandeza del Señor, se alegra mi espíritu en Dios mi Salvador”.
El pasado 15 de agosto, el día de la Asunción, me consagré a la Virgen, pues es por ella que quiero llegar a Jesús, su amado Hijo, de la forma más plena. La Virgen María, la humilde esclava de Dios, resume de forma maravillosa el plan de Dios para la humanidad, su Reino de amor, justicia y misericordia.

The purple of the advent season reminds us of preparation and anticipation. The season of the year helps, as our daylight diminishes
in autumn and we await the growing light of spring.
Sometimes that light can be uncomfortable, though, even blinding. The light shows us what we must change, or why we are hurting, or
who we can love more generously.
We are sent out to BE light for the world. Let us welcome the dawn.

Lord God, let your blessing come upon us as we prepare to light the fifth candle on this wreath.
May the first candle, now nearly burnt down, be a sign of our hope for the coming of Jesus.

We have followed the star and prepared room in our hearts for the God’s great gift: Jesus. In the face of unprecedented challenges to our community and our world, the coming of Christ reminds us that God is always near and is always yearning to make us whole.
In a year when we must be socially distant, may God guide his prophets to beckon us near.
In a year when fear and chaos swirl around, may God send his angels to spread his Good News.
In a year when politics threaten to divide us, may God and the Holy Family unite us in love.
In a year when we must learn and work from home, may God send his Son to dwell among us.
Christmas reminds us that God’s love is ever ancient and ever new. So as we begin this new season and new year, let us leave old resentments and old worries behind. May we as a community begin anew with faith in God and trust in one another, that we may follow the Holy Spirit wherever it may lead.

Para nuestra amada comunidad de San Francisco Javier,
Hemos seguido la estrella y preparado un lugar en nuestros corazones para el gran regalo de Dios: Jesús. Durante estos tiempos desafiantes para nuestra comunidad y el mundo, la venida de Cristo nos recuerda que Dios siempre está cerca y que añora hacernos plenos.
En este año que debemos mantener la distancia social, que Dios guie sus profetas para llamarnos cerca.
En este año cuando el temor y caos ronda alrededor, que Dios envíe a sus ángeles a propagar la Buena Nueva.
En este año que la política amenaza y divide, que Dios y la Sagrada Familia nos una en su amor.
En este año que debemos aprender y trabajar desde casa, que Dios envié a su Hijo para morar en nosotros.
La Navidad nos recuerda que el amor de Dios nunca pasa y es siempre actual. Por lo que, al comenzar esta nueva temporada y nuevo año, dejemos atrás nuestros resentimientos y preocupaciones. Como comunidad, comencemos de nuevo con la fe en Dios y la confianza entre nosotros, para así, seguir al Espíritu Santo hacia donde nos dirija.
