Join Us for Adult Sunday School During Advent! Two studies to choose from:
(Please note that there is NO Sunday school today, Nov. 27.)
The Redemption of Scrooge Dec. 4 - Dec. 18
(no meeting Nov. 27)
10:15 - 11:05 am | The Hub Each session will be led by one of our pastors.
Come as often as you can.
In this study, Pastor and author Matt Rawle dives deep
into the dark, sad, greedy world of Scrooge from the
Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol, and
discovers a man in dire need of a second chance. Along with
Scrooge, we meet the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future
and in the process learn about living with and for others in a world
blessed by Jesus.
THE FORUM CLASS: THE FIRST CHRISTMAS Dec. 4 -18
10:15-11:15 am (New Time!)
Hearth Rm. led by Rev. Pam Buchholz
THE FIRST CHRISTMAS, based on the book by
Marcus Borg & John Dominic Crossan, is a historically
based study that lets us see the familiar stories of
Christmas in new and challenging ways.
The Forum Class will now end at 11:15 instead of 11:45 am to make it
easier for YOU to join in. Feel free to drop in occasionally, or join in
every week for learning, laughter, and thought-provoking conversation.
An Advent Prayer
God of hope, be with us in our Advent journey to the stable and
beyond. Be with us in our meeting and in our travelling together; be
with us in our worship and our praying together. Be with us in our
Advent journey to the stable and beyond, our God of hope.

It’s Sr. High Roll Bake Time Again!
December 10 is our second Roll Bake of the school
year. Order deadline is December 4. The next
(and last roll bake date of this school year) is
March 4, 2017. All proceeds for roll bakes go to
support the Sr. High United Methodist Youth
Fellowship activities and our Spring Break Mission Trip.
Both types of rolls can be donated to Hidden Harvest – a food rescue
and distribution agency here in the Great Lakes Bay Region! So, if you
would like to support the youth, but would rather not have the rolls
yourselves, consider donating them to Hidden Harvest. The Sr. High
youth will receive the proceeds, while Hidden Harvest and those they
help are given fresh rolls. (All donations of rolls to Hidden Harvest must
be prepaid.)
The cost is $3.50 for plain, and $4.00 for cinnamon.
You can place your order or donation of rolls to Hidden Harvest by:
• Contacting your favorite Sr. High youth.
• Filling out a yellow pew card (for personal orders) and putting it in
the offering plate or dropping it off in the office with Attn: John
Engler.
• Filling out a white pew envelope (for donation of rolls to Hidden
Harvest) and putting it in the offering plate or dropping them off in
the church office.
• Calling the Church Office, 835.6797.
As always, we appreciate your support of our youth and our Sr. High
UMYF.
Have you begun receiving 2017 picture calendars? They are
used by the Recreational Therapy department at Pine Rest Christian
Mental Health Services in Grand Rapids. If you have any calendars
with pictures that you will not be using and
would like to donate them, please put them
in the brown bin at the bottom of the case
with cubby holes in the office area (below
