Rise of Ethernet as T1’s Disappear

• WAN ports are slowly moving away from low-speed legacy technologies like T1 to Ethernet, broadband, and the higher-speed legacy technologies like T3, OC3, and higher

• Shifts are occurring slowly, as buyers need to replace equipment and WAN services, usually tied to long-term contracts

• From CY12 through CY17, we expect the following major shifts: - T1 falls from 23% of all ports

in CY12 to 12% by CY17 - Ethernet climbs from 23% to

36%

Growth Areas for Routers

Expansion into higher performing router platforms – Gigabit feeds – Added port density – Fiber connectivity – Enable Nx100 Mbps to 1 Gbps services – Multicore capabilities

Leverage Layer 2 expertise of our Carrier Division – Both software and hardware – Lines between EN & CN becoming less distinct

Continue to build on our eSBC story – Internationalization of IPBGs – SBC Functionality on Router Platforms – Licensing to allow smaller call count to keep ROI down

AOS Migration to build our NFV product solution

4G/LTE Developments – Cloud Managed Router / IPBG

Adding functionality to Routers, Switches and IPBGs to enable Cloud Management through vWLAN or nCommand MSP

This functionality will be utilized to add to our ProCloud Product offering

Gives the customer the ability to see and manage the “big picture” of Router, Switches, and APs on a customer premise

Adds API functionality to AOS that will allow nCommand or vWLAN to make direct AOS configuration and management database calls

This development will add the ability to do Port Forwarding via SSH – allow administrators to create SSH tunnels that forward local AOS TCP/UDP ports to outside

machines – This allows a user to connect to a device on the other side of a firewall that is blocking all

traffic initiated from outside the firewall

Perfect solution for providers that want the ease of router drop off at customer premise and the ability to “cloud” configure and bring up wireline access when it becomes available

Targeting Q1 2015 for feature availability
