Powerful AMI data collection systemsElster offers MegaNet™ for high power fi xed network meter data collection. MegaNet™ technology employs fi eld proven levels of safety measures to protect data, creating the most reliable communication system offered to the AMI industry. Security measures include: time slots, channel monitors, data package repetitions and many others. High power, long-range licensed, full 2-watt radio transmission, requires fewer collectors - minimizing the initial and reoccurring costs.

Installation is simple - the wireless device communicates to the MTU to initialize the location and validate the transmission, feedback from the collector verifi es signal strength at the handheld immediately on-site.

Data is collected and transmitted via the MTU with an extended range of up to 5 miles. The base station receives data from the collector or transmissions directly from MTUs, the recorded data reading information is displayed on the feature rich data management software package with easy to understand graphical reports.

Future-ready metering and reading technologies

Multiple meter reading technologiesUtilities can select the most appropriate level of reading automation from the broad range of AMR/AMI systems available from Elster AMCO Water. Our approach allows utilities to implement versatile, cost-effi cient reading systems that can be integrated into today’s operations, with fl exibility that empowers the utility to evolve and grow as technology advances.

The InVISION Absolute Encoder is a non-contact encoder uses optical character recognition (OCR) to eliminate wear on contact pads associated with traditional encoders, resulting in extended register life. While absolute encoders have revolutionized meter reading, lower power requirements and increased reliability are essential to successful implementation of advanced reading technologies.

InVISION technology mimics human vision and vision processing with optimum lighting, resulting in better than 20:20 vision, allowing correct interpretation and data entry. Elster AMCO Water provides utilities with the fi rst true absolute encoder through the use of InVISION technology.

F4000

C4000

The C3000 is a proven performer in the utility industry and the dual body modular design compound meter stands the test of time.

C4000 and C3000 series meters are available in water works bronze or NSF 61 bronze confi gurations. Also, multiple register styles are available for AMR/AMI or electronic reading.

High performance meters capture low fl owCompound meters are capable of measuring minimal fl ows for utilities with wide fl ow ranges. The intelligent design of the C4000 compound meter minimizes the installation footprint yet allows ease of service for the bypass element and register. The bypass is a positive displacement element with outstanding starting fl ow performance; the turbine element delivers excellent normal and upper range accuracy performance. For larger meter applications, the C3000 provides proven, reliable measurement throughout it’s service life.

Elster also serves combined potable and fi re services with an AWWA C703 type II Fire Service Meter. The F4000 carries a Factory Mutual approval to standard 1044. The high volume strainer prevents debris from hindering delivery of high fl ows through the turbine element to downstream fi re fi ghting equipment. The C700 bypass meter also measures daily consumption. The evoQ4 is also available for fi re service applications.
