Advanced Outcomes

Adoption

Use the new Outcome tab style format to record Adoptions. You can produce an adoption contract, receipt,

and adopter downloads, as well as medical documents for the adopter. You will also, by completing the

adoption process, remove adopted animals’ information and photos from your website and Petango. This

process will also allow you to issue the ShelterCare Gift of Insurance and register microchips with 24PetWatch.

ShelterCare Gift Policies will be generated through PetPoint to clients who provide a valid e-mail address and adopt a

microchipped animal. Those providing an email address but adopting an animal 12 weeks or older without a chip will

receive a ShelterCare Offer – this is different than the ShelterCare Gift because the adopter will need to contact

ShelterCare within 72 hours to activate their Gift Policy. The instructions on how to activate the policy will be provided

to adopters by your organization via the Adopter Downloads. Those who do not provide a valid email address will not be

eligible for a ShelterCare Gift or Offer.

STEP 1 OF 5: CHOOSE YOUR OUTCOME

From the Outcome Menu, choose your outcome type.

STEP 2 OF 5: PERSON DETAILS

Now you are ready to enter the details for the person adopting the animal. If the person already exists in the database,

you can enter your search criteria, click Find, select and add them to this operation. If the person does not exist in your

database, you can Create New Person.

The Person tab will open to the Express tab when creating a new person. Add the person’s information and click save.

This will open the rest of the Person tabs and will allow you to add additional contact information, a memo or related

persons. In this example, the person of Jane Doe is added. The minimum requirement to add a person to an adoption is

first name, last name, address and phone number. Adding the association of ‘Adopter’ is strongly recommended.

Remember to include the person’s email address for issuing a Gift (or Offer) of Insurance and select the appropriate

yes/no response to the Gift/Offer of Insurance drop down. Once all of the information has been added, click Update

Person. This will move you to the Animal tab.

STEP 3 OF 5: ANIMAL DETAILS

Now you are ready to select the animal from your database. Search for an animal and click Find, select and add them to

this operation. You can search by Animal Number, Name or Reference Number by changing the Animal Search Criteria

drop down. You can also use the Advanced Search if needed.

Use the Express tab to update information on the animal like the required Name and Date of Birth. If you would like to

add a microchip, you may do it from this tab. Select any of the other appropriate tabs to add memos, vouchers, etc. If

this is a multiple-animal operation, you can add multiple animals by using the Animal Search tab to look up another

animal. Once all the animals are added to the operation, proceed to step 4 by clicking on the Details tab.

STEP 4 OF 5: OUTCOME DETAILS

On the Details tab, fill in the required fields as well as fields that are part of your process. In addition, select the free products that were provided to the adopter. If none were given, you must select ‘No free products provided’. When you are finished, click on the Submit Intake button at the bottom. This will take you to Step 5.

STEP 5 OF 5: SUMMARY

The Summary tab, shows confirmation that the outcome has been completed.

By using the links on this screen the user can display the: Animal View Report: By clicking on the Animal ID you will display the Animal View Report, giving the user detailed information on the animal. Contract: Opens the window to print the Adoption Contract. Users may also choose to Create Receipt for the outcome. Medical History: Entered in Care Exam. Vaccine Certificate: Entered in Care Exam. Voucher: Created on the Edit Animal screen. Spay/Neuter Certificate: Recorded on the Care Medical screen.

Adopter Downloads: (Adobe PDF file) By clicking on the green button displaying the Animal ID, you can view/print the email we send your adopters, including a 24PetWatch confirmation document.
