The Loews Miami Beach Hotel is located in the heart of South Beach, offering direct access to the ocean and all the city has to offer. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel at special AHPBA room rates of $350 US Single or Double occupancy. The rates are per night and are subject to state and local taxes, as well as a $13 per night resort fee. The room reservation cut-off date is Friday, January 31, 2020.

Hotel Deposits and Cancellation Fees All reservations must be accompanied by a first night room deposit with a major credit card. Reservations must be cancelled at least 72 hours prior to arrival in order to avoid a cancellation fee.

Hotel Check-in and out Check-in time starts at 4:00pm and Check-out time is 11:00am.

OVERALL EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

CME ACCREDITATION This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of PESI, Inc. and The Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (AHPBA). PESI, Inc. is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The AHPBA Annual Meeting has been structured around various tracks, representing the liver, pancreas, biliary system and transplant. At the conclusion of the Annual Meeting of the AHPBA, the Association expects its attendees to have gained knowledge and skills that will lead to changes or enhancements in their own practices and improve physician training. The AHPBA expects that the Scientific Program’s educational interventions will result in measurable improvements in patient care. The theme of this year’s meeting is to “2020 Vision – Focus on Evidence and Integrated Care”. Following the meeting attendees should have a better understanding of:

• Learning to work up and manage bile duct injuries

• Developing an understanding of the diagnosis andmanagement of cholangiocarcinoma, including surgical andmedical management

• Describing the role of molecular testing, and immunotherapyHPB malignancies

• Developing the design and implementation of clinical trialsin HPB surgery

• Discussing the state of the art care for metastatic coloncancer, including the role of chemotherapy, radiation, andsurgery

• Identifying the role of technology and research to optimizethe safety, quality, and outcomes in HPB Surgery

• Interfacing with patient advocacy groups to learn whatmatters to our patients
