Airport transfers can be arranged by EC upon request. Arrivalinformation must be sent to EC at least two weeks prior toarrival otherwise we cannot guarantee airport transfers. An ECrepresentative with an EC Bristol sign will meet students at thearrival gate. If students cannot find the EC representative, theyare advised to proceed to the Airport Information desk and callthe EC emergency number. In case of flight delays, missedconnecting flights or delays at Customs or immigration,students should call EC Staff on the Emergency number so thatthe driver will wait for them..

If students booked their accommodation through EC and havenot booked an airport transfer they must still inform EC of theirflight details one week prior to arrival. In addition to the above,if students are staying at a residence and have not booked anairport transfer, they should telephone EC’s emergency numberat least 30 minutes before arrival in Bristol. This will ensure thatan EC representative will be at the accommodation to welcomethem.

If you did not request an airport pick-up, there are several waysto get to your residence: Taxi: Go to the taxi stand outside and tell the driver thename/address of your residence.

Public Transport: From Bristol International Airport: Airport Bus(Bristol Flyer): The Bristol Flyer connects the airport to the citycentre. There is a bus almost every 10 minutes and the journeyinto the city centre takes 30 minutes. The bus stop is only 10minutes away on foot from the residence. Before boarding thebus, please call the EC emergency number on +44 (0) 7713 561436 to advise school staff of your arrival time at the residence. From London Airports: National Express Coach. From London Heathrow: a coach runs every hours and thejourney takes 2 hours. From London Gatwick: there is a coach every two hours and thejourney time is 3 hours and 20 minutes.

On their first day all students sit a placement test in order to be allocated to themost appropriate English language level.

A welcome pack will be given to all students on their first day at school. Thiswelcome pack contains information which students will find useful for their stay.

Students will be given a welcome talk by the Centre Director or the OperationsManager on their first day. Important information related to the school buildingand leisure activities will be communicated during this meeting. An academicinduction meeting with the Director of Studies or her staff will also be held on thefirst day to pass on information about the timetable, lessons and other academicrelated information.

A welcome event in the company of an EC activity leader will be organised on thefirst day to allow new students to get to know each other in an informal and funsetting.

Arrival letters are sent to all students at their accommodation address once theiraccommodation is confirmed. The letter includes detailed information regardingdirections.

The Arrival letter will also indicate the arrival time for your first day at school. Whenthe school is on a single bank the first day timetable is typically as follows.
