PUMPKIN PATCH IMPORTANT INFO Student Volunteer Sign Up – Sign up students to help out with the Pumpkin Patch here. The Pumpkin Patch is open from 10 a.m. till 8 p.m. every day in October. Key times for students to volunteer are weekday evenings and weekends.
Family Fun Day – October 21st from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m. Youth will host a booth and help with the bounce houses.
Pumpkin Patch Under the Stars - October 27th from 7:30 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. Youth will host a community movie night.
Trunk or Treat – October 31st Time: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Fellowship Groups
Merry Mixers Open to all adults that meet for a potluck dinner, games and fellowship. Please bring a potluck item to share. We would like to have enough for everyone. After the meal, we will play “Chicken Foot” dominoes and no experience is necessary… we’ll show you how to play. Join us for the last Merry Mixers of 2017 on Tuesday, October 24th at 6:30 pm in room 127. For questions, call Diane Grossman at 817-784-0005.
SJA Singles Open to all Single Adults Come join us for Sunday School at 9:45 am in room 152.
Oct. 21st Family Fun Day - We are working the Cookie Walk. Bring cookies and your lawn chair. 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Oct. 28th SJA Pumpkin Patch, 4:00 - 6:00 PM, then dinner afterwards.

Family Fun Day: Family Fun Day is this Saturday! Currently, I do not have every time slot filled in to man (or, woman, rather) the bounce houses or work the craft table. I know many of you are working a booth with your small group, but for those of you who are not currently attending a small group or are planning on being there the entire day - would you consider giving an hour of your time to one of these events? Sign-ups are out on the Family Fun Day table in the hallway or contact me, Hannah to let me know you can help. [email protected] or 817-468-8484. Please note: The bounce houses need adult supervision. If we don’t have enough adults signed up to help with the bounce houses, we may not have the bounce houses at the event.
Trunk-or-Treat: This year Trunk-or-Treat will be on Halloween, Tuesday Oct. 31st from 6-8pm. In addition to needing help with food, I will also need volunteers to help make cotton candy, run the cake walk, and operate some new carnival games I am in the works of having made. Volunteer sign-ups are on the candy donation table in the annex. There is a donation spot in the kitchen for hot dogs, buns, pre-packaged chips & cookies, and drinks. Next time you go to the grocery store would you mind grabbing one of these items to contribute? I also would greatly appreciate cupcake donations for the cake walk and someone to help cook hotdogs on the day of. If you are able to help with either of those, please shoot me a separate e-mail. I am also in need of empty 2 gallon soda bottles for a game.
Christmas Choir Practice: This year the kids will be performing Brentwood Benson's "Red Letter Christmas" on Christmas Eve. Rehearsal's will take place every Wednesday during our normal Wacky Wednesday program.
Other Upcoming Dates: Confirmation field trip to the Anglican church - Nov. 5th. For more details, contact Hannah Smith.

Missions
Candy Donations: For Trunk or Treat, please br ing your own candy to hand out that evening. However, we are asking for donations of candy for a back-up supply to keep people from running out of treats then driving away through the crowds of kiddos. Please have all candy turned in to a box in the hallway by Sunday, October 29th.
Food Donations: We are providing hot dogs and chips for our trick or treaters. Please donate hot dog buns, frankfurters, individually wrapped cookies, drinks (such as sodas, water or pouch drinks, and/or individual chips. Donate by this Sunday, Oct. 22. Place your donations in the kitchen in the area labeled for Trunk or Treat.
Wanted: 2 Liter Soda Bottles Please donate empty 2 liter soda bottles for a game the kids will be playing. Donations can be placed in the hallway on the candy table. Please rinse out bottles before donating.

Pumpkin Patch News
Sign up to Volunteer in the Patch! There’s less than two weeks left and we still have time slots that need to be filled. Sign up for a 2 hour time slot as soon as you can. Click here to access the on-line sign-up sheet or pick an empty time slot in the binder in the hallway. Encourage your small group or Sunday School group to sign up.
If you are retired or are usually available during daytime hours, please sign up to be a substitute in the pumpkin patch from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm. If we have an upcoming time slot, we may contact you to fill in. Look for the sign-up sheet inside the “Adult Sign-up” binder located in the hallway on the pumpkin patch table.
Invite Friends, Family & Neighbors to Family Fun Day Family Fun Day is SJA’s annual blow-out. There will be music, games, bounce houses, food, and more! This is a great outreach opportunity to invite others to celebrate in the bounty that God has blessed us with!
Family Fun Day Needs You! Just a reminder to all Sunday School classes and small groups. Family Fun Day is this Saturday and set up starts at 10:00 am. Remember to bring shade. If you didn’t get to sign up but still want to help set up, be here at 10:00 am.
We need volunteers to tear down, too. Tear down starts at 2:00 pm and you do not need to sign up to help. Thank you to everyone for your contribution to this wonderful event. Keith Jones
Children’s Ministry Needs Family Fun Day Volunteers Volunteers are needed to help operate bounce houses and craft station for Family Fun Day. Currently, we have many empty spots. If you are interested in helping, below are the Kids Against Hunger Tarrant County packing events we have on the calendar for this year. Thank you for your prayerful consideration of this SJA ministry.
Thursday, November 2nd - all day event. Simpson Strong-Tie Company, 2221 County Lane, McKinney, TX 75069. Meet at SJA parking lot at 9:00 a.m.. Be there around 11:00. Start packing at 12:00 or 12:30. Three lines, 30-35 people per shift. Shifts are 12:30-1:30, 1:30-2:30 and 2:30-4:00 or 5:00. Packing 20,000-25,000 meals.
Sunday, November 12th - Arborlawn United Methodist Church - Ft. Worth, TX Meet at SJA parking lot at 7:30 a.m. Be at Arborlawn at 8:00 a.m. and pack until 12:00. Probably about 20,000 meals, no final word from them yet.

Light Lifting in Love The Missions Team has started a new program for missions work in the area. Click here to see the video for more information. Did you know: applications are stuffed inside our pumpkin patch brochures and handed out. This is a new way to reach those outside our walls to help around the home. Click here for the online form. Sign up sheets to help on Nov. 11th is in the hallway.
COOKIE BAKERS NEEDED! SJA Singles will run a Cookie Walk at Family Fun Day and need LOTS of homemade cookies! Please bring them to Family Fun Day, preferably packaged into bags of 2, but we'll take them anyway you bring them. We'll have a basket in the hallway to collect them during the week also.
