Merry Christmas!
“May we be in this
world a ray of that
light which shone
forth from
Bethlehem, bringing
joy and peace to the
hearts of all men
and women.”
POPE FRANCIS
Thank you for joining us in celebrang the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ!
Blessings to you for a Christmas season full of joy, peace, and wonder.
We extend a warm welcome to all, especially our visitors who have come from afar or are joining us with friends and family! We offer a special word of welcome to those who are seeking a place to belong, a spiritual home where the love, mercy, and joy of the Lord are gratefully received and generously shared. We invite everyone to connue to worship with us and also parcipate in the parish community through its acvies, ministries, and service opportunies.
As a Catholic community, we gather to worship, serve, and give witness to Jesus Christ. We support and celebrate with each other in moments of hardship or sorrow as well as in mes of joy. At all mes, we seek to know the joy of the Gospel and share it with others. This bullen highlights who we are, what we offer and do. There are many ways to enrich your lives and the lives of others. Please check out our web-sites, (www.seoh.org and www.ssidorestow.org), and the weekly bullens, which are also available online, or contact any staff member for more details.
Not Catholic? Seeking? Curious? We Welcome you!
Throughout the year and especially at mes like Christmas, Easter, and sacra-mental celebraons like bapsms, Frist Communions, Confirmaons, weddings and funerals, we worship together with many who are not Catholic. Most oen it is the loving connecon of family—
spouse and/or children—or close friendships that compel us to come together under one roof to worship, cele-brate, seek comfort and strength from God, or simply to support a loved one with the support of a faith communi-ty. All are welcome and we are joyed to pray together! Many, perhaps you or someone close to you, may be seeking a spiritual home or finding meaning and purpose in life. Maybe you/they have wondered about what it means to be Catholic or how to even begin to inquire about what that would entail. We are here to support you, provide a safe place to explore your quesons and assist you on your journey of discovery. Please contact any staff person to learn more and explore opons.
PRAYER LINE
Never underesmate the power of prayer! Send your prayer intenons, (using first names only, please), to [email protected] for monthly dis-tribuon and to [email protected] for the email chain.
Why Pray?
Prayer has oen been called “the raising up of the mind and heart to God”. When we take me to talk to God, we get a wonderful opportunity to strength-en and deepen our relaonship with him and one an-other by praying for their needs as well as our own. Can daily prayers change your life? Absolutely! Our lives can be transformed as we encounter the Lord and prayer is one way in which we can do that. It can begin as simply as taking a few moments each day to review your day with God, expressing thankfulness, seeking forgiveness when needed and guidance for the next day. If you are not currently taking me in your daily life already, it might not be an easy habit to start at first, but it’s definitely one you won’t want to break!
A Community Prayer
Lord, You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Guide us and fill us with the Holy Spirit
and ignite in us a fire of love for You.
Help us live as bold witnesses of the Gospel Message
to our families, schools, parish, and world
so others may come to know, love and serve You.
Help us to be Your eyes, ears, and voice in a world
so desperately searching for love and truth.
Amen
